The Proclaimers "This is The Story" LP. These dudes don't get enough credit for being great due to their classic, enduring, international, megahit about walking 500 miles that came out on their second album. This debut album is strong all the way around. I remember having a meaningful discussion my dad back in early 1988 about merits of both the acoustic and band versions of "Letter From America" which will always be my favorite song by them. The Gerry Rafferty "band" version is nice but vocally the passion of the acoustic performance is absent which in the end makes the acoustic version the superior of the two, though both are fantastic. I appreciate how hard these brothers can belt out a tune.
