Summary:  In between cleaning stainless steel counter tops and making cups of coffee at his job as manager of Anderson Coffee Inc. in Midtown Manhattan, Blaine dreams of breaking out of the shell he’s been trapped in all his privileged life--though of course his father would never allow him to strike off on his own. When someone sets up shop in the abandoned building next to the coffee shop, Blaine thinks nothing of it save that at least his father won’t complain about it going into disrepair anymore. That is, he thinks nothing of it until he meets Kurt Hummel. Then it basically all goes to shit.

bright smile, dark eyes (jamie/tyler) pls

i don’t actually remember a lot about this fic? the title if from bright smile by josh ritter, which is both one of my fave songs in general and one of my fave jamie/tyler songs. but it seems very likely the reason it’s unfinished is that i just didn’t have a clear idea where it was going. ANYWAY.

The game would be forgettable if it weren’t for the chants, the uncomfortable weight in Jamie’s stomach—this city had Tyler, and didn’t want him, and now they’re mocking him for not being good enough. It makes him want to punch someone, but the shoving matches don’t make the feeling dissipate any more than the shootout win does.

Postgame workouts are usually just the stationary bikes, something that uses their legs and isn’t too intense, but that doesn’t help the heavy anger that’s still swirling around Jamie. He’s mad at this place, at these people he’s never met, for not appreciating Tyler the way they should.

Jordie shoots him a knowing look, like he read between the lines of Jamie’s scowl. He shrugs; it means “chill, bro,” but Jamie’s not sure if he can. The prickly sensation of wanting to prove his worth is stronger than ever. Wanting to prove himself and to help Tyler do the same. Chiarelli is part of the Team Canada braintrust, Jamie thinks bitterly, pedaling harder, he didn’t just trade Tyler, he was part of the reason Jamie wasn’t invited to Olympic camp.

This time it’s Tyler keeping his distance from Jamie on the plane.
