                             Monday, April 3, 2017 - Friday, April 7, 2017

The Austin Peay Dance team and the Governors Own Marching Band performed at Austin Peay Night with the Nashville Predators. One lucky Gov – Tessa Hall – won a signed Predators jersey. The campus community welcomed Matt Figger as its 12th basketball coach during a press conference on Thursday. APSU student Treston Henderson showed off his #PeayPride during a conversation on the Castle Heights steps. Govs learned more about student organizations and won prizes at First Friday. Cherry blossoms sprung out of hiding as Spring weather returned following a cold snap. Communication students filmed the first episode of a new series called “Muses” in the production studio of the Music and Mass Communications Building. A member of Alpha Tau Omega helps set up in preparation for ATO’s annual philanthropy event, “Jump for Jude.”

                      Saturday, March 25, 2017 - Friday, March 31, 2017

Students from the Wildlife Society admired nature during a volunteer clean-up at the APSU Farm and Environmental Education Center. Govs crashed into one another in bumper cars at the Foy Recreation Center. A rainy Tuesday caused students to break out their umbrellas. Students shared anonymous secrets on Post Secret postcards in the Morgan University Center plaza. Govs took advantage of beautiful weather to study outside the library. Austin Peay State University held its inaugural Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, March 30, 2017. Broadcast students produced a WAPX-FM Magic 91.9 radio segment. Students in the Hispanic Cultural Center took turns jamming out on an acoustic guitar. The MUC was a homework hub for smiling students on a cloudy day.

                   Monday, February 27, 2017 - Friday, March 3, 2017

Skateboarders performed tricks in the Morgan University Center Plaza while others gave skateboarding a try. APSU student Briar Moroschak prepared for Southeastern Theatre Conference auditions during a vocal lesson. Students enjoyed a hint of spring in the middle of the week as temperatures fluctuated. Students filled the library through the week to study for upcoming midterms before Spring Break. Colleagues and former students honored the memory of history professor Betty Joe Wallace during a memorial dinner on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Govs gathered in the MUC Plaza for free pizza, donuts, and festivities to cap off the end of the week.

                             Monday, February 13 - Friday, February 17

The APSU campus community sported festive ensembles in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Tie Dye Thom’s canine companion Grateful Ben relaxed in the grass near his merchandise stand and students showed off their skills during a dance class. BMX bikers perform tricks in the Morgan University Center Plaza while students enjoyed time between classes inside the MUC. Members of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry handed out Pop-Tarts to hungry passersby near the Woodward Library. Motorcycle spottings on campus grew as the weather grew warmer throughout the week. Students donned safety glasses to participate in an experiment during their organic chemistry lab.

                  Saturday, January 21, 2017 - Friday, January 27, 2017

Govs basketball defeated long standing rival Mu**ay State in the Heritage Bank Battle of the Border on Saturday, Jan 21. Colder weather had students bundling up to get to class this week, and nursing students shared laughs during a lab class. A loose calf on campus created a commotion on Friday, but was quickly and safely removed.

                   Tuesday, January 17, 2017 - Friday, January 20, 2017

Students returned to the Austin Peay State University campus to kick off the beginning of the spring semester. When they weren’t outside enjoying the unseasonably warm weather, students spent time acclimating to their new classes in the Woodward Library. Basketball Govs lost a close one to Morehead State with Coach Loos back at the helm. And the Governor’s Own Marching Band pep band played on.

                                 October 17, 2016 - October 21, 2016

Homecoming spirit spread throughout campus through several events this week. A Mercer Bear mascot was “sacrificed” by Latin and Classics students and faculty, then thrown into the annual bonfire. Country artist Frankie Ballard rocked the Foy Fitness Center for this year’s concert. Student groups participated in APSU trivia, musical chairs, and tug of war competitions, and donned festive shirts and bandanas to show that Home truly is Where the Govs Are.
