It's kinda interesting that for such a prolific shapeshifter, most Loki devotees seem to depict him in roughly the same way. Redheaded, slender little man with scarred lips and killer cheekbones and jawline. Like because deities often appear slightly differently depending on who they're talking to, you would think that Loki would appear in like a million different ways, but his one look is just so iconic I guess.

It's also funny to me that, despite Thor being depicted in so many different ways, the two most accurate examples of how Thor actually appears (at least in my experience) are from God of War and the YouTube channel Overly Sarcastic Productions

Subtle Ways I Worship Thor

As I said in this post about worshipping Queen Hera, I work a forty-hour work week, and by the time I either get home from work or it's my weekend, I am exhausted. However, I realize I can worship the gods in a way that works with my schedule and energy levels. Here are the ways I subtly worship my patron, Thor:

working out; I don't necessarily work out in the tradtional "pumping iron" way--even though I try, but Pilates has worked wonders for me, and it's something I enjoy

listening to metal music; I feel extra connected to Him when I listen to any Sabaton song, "God of Thunder" by KISS, or "Twilight of the Thunder God" by Amon Amarth

thinking about and chatting with Him; one of the cool things about having a patron deity as understanding as Thor is just chatting with Him and thinking about Him!

staying hydrated; now, this may be relatively obvious, but the gods want us to take care of ourselves, and He, being like a father figure to me, He wants me to take care of myself, and thus, I do just that

in a similar way to the previous one, eating protein; good for the body, good for the soul

doing things independently, I don't necessarily have an explanation for this one, but if the God of Thunder can absolutely dominate and kick ass all by Himself, so can I (but ALWAYS remember, if you need help, do not be afraid to ask)

looking into norse pagan traditions; this one feels self-explanatory

pracitcing my Swedish; I practice my father's language for several reasons: I want to be able to connect to my culture and language, it's good for the mind, and it connects me to my ancestors

staying strong even when I don't want to; if I can't do something for myself, I will do it in His honor, as sometimes, you cannot do it for yourself, do it for the people (or in this case, gods) that you care about

I love you. You matter. Your smile lights up the world. You deserve to be held tenderly and comforted, as you're told it's ok to not be strong, to need help. It's normal and apart of life

Especially if you're also bipoc and grew up having to be the strong one. So please, if you're tired, cranky from being in pain, from so much abusive and unjust situations, please know the divine see you. And they LOVE you dearly, like a child loving a puppy, or a mother her baby. They are bringing justice to all who harmed you, wronged you, and made you feel small, stagnant, and powerless. It is the same as doing that to a god, angel, and the Creator Themself. Because Source Creator is you creating yourself. The Source of Creation is LOVE. And trans people, we are trans because we LOVE being who we are. you can choose whatever you want, for anything, though irt choosing names, pronouns, clothes, your hair, etc! choose to live the best, happiest, most fulfilling life you possibly can. If you can't change it rn or at all, that's okay. Accepting whatever it is as it is without judgement will bring you peace, especially irt dysphoria. focusing on what you can change, instead of what you can't will bring you much more joy. Especially if you look at the perspective of "I want to change x bc it'd feel good, happier, and better as y or z." Instead of "ahhhhh z drives me crazy! I'll try x. No no.. y! I can't decide 😔" bc u already know what you don't want. Focusing on it and others' judgements will make you miserable. And trust me, I know it's hard. Though you deserve to focus on your happiness. You are worthy of it inherently, with no judgment from you, others, and the divine! If you need encouragement of safely going outside your comfort zone, you can do it. The divine will protect you. Every god, angel, mother nature, and EVERY being of the highest good. You are always allowed to pray and ask them. They find it not only a JOY, PLEASURE, and BLESSING to protect you? Help you feel safe? It is a MIRACLE for them to do

you have every right to enjoy this beautiful earth. Wear a croptop, skirt, a hoodie, your fav outfit bc it makes u happy n go "DAMN I look good!!" Don't let the haters stop u!! Laying in grass under the loving sun feels GOOD. MAGICAL!!!! I LOVE talking to Apollo as I lay in the grass and listening to birds, the sounds of the city, and the bees buzzing and polinating flowers nearby 🌈🌞🌻🌹🐝 that He makes into a glorious orchestra for me and you, listening bringing me joy as I let myself be 🐝 ehehe. Everyone deserves that!!!

I live at a motel, and so many hateful, racist, ableist, zealots, and queerphobic ppl live and hang around here, FILLED w so much negativity and darkness, and refuse to do better. I also have amazing neighbors that smile when they see me, tell me jokes, listen to me, and I came out recently to my neighbor who's a cishet white guy who's really chill, fun to talk to, and loving dad. You might find compassion and companionship in the most unexpected ways, so don't be fooled by appearance. The divine are going to send you love in your life very soon! Real true love. In the form of romance, friendship, an animal companion, or a garden. Bc they see you try so hard to let love in and love yourself despite it all. They want you to feel loved every moment of every day

It's abt feeling. If it doesn't feel good, if it has to be forced over n over and still won't work, it's not love. Like how eating a cupcake n savoring it feels GOOD without even trying. Like how turning a lock into a key is meant to just h a p p e n. This is how loves works, and you deserve love! Inherently by existing. CREATING a good feeling is different! especially if it's smth you're passionate abt, or stirs the strings of your heart, plsss go for it bestie!!!

Want to learn how to draw or paint but dunno how to start? Play piano or write music, garden, learn how to can food, beekeep, write novels, fanfic, or plays? Animate your art?

Who cares what it looks like. Esp at first. Everyone has to be bad at first to get it down. Even naturals! Also. You don't have to be good at things to enjoy it, to be worthy of it or sharing it. That comes from capitalism trying to insist that everything you do needs to have monetary value, and to do that, you "need it to look perfect and marketable" to be worth money, which is fake!! Does not define ur worth or aura points 😝 it's only ever a means, a vehicle, to get to where u wanna go

Whoever that is for you, all of the divine coexist. All the gods, angels, ancestors of the highest white light that learned and healed like you. Them and all of nature is your friend and wanting to show you the way. They want you to ask for help!! Its no fun wandering aimlessly with no purpose or direction. That sucks, actually!! The Divine WANT to guide us. When you were a kid have you Ever seen an ant, and want to make a little house for them out of leaves, sticks, and flowers? Or for your puppy or kitty, wanted to give them the best treats, exercise, toys, food, and space possible? Buying ur meow meow child, friend, FAMILY, the coziest and most fun scratching post, and making one for them if you couldn't find the perfect one?

That's how the divine see us. They LOVE us. If you're unsure how to reconnect with yourself and your joy, they're happy to help and guide you to the best route to the best version of yourself. They'll give you the best books, tutorials, seeds, instruments and tools, environment, AND guide your hands every step of the way. They'll plant you in the best spot where you can bloom with confidence, with what you need to shine! To grow fruit to feed yourself and the world. Esp bc so many evils, hateful n bigoted ppl, and societal constructs have made gaining and enjoying every one of those an uphill battle for NO reason. They enjoy the process with you, their beloved child ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🌈🫂

🌧️🌲 Thor showed himself to me in a dream of a rainy grove, there were people everywhere hiding under branches of trees to stay out of the rain. 🍃

🌧️ It felt safe and I felt him watching over all of us. Now I feel his safety and love for humanity in every drop of rain that hits the leaves around me. I find beauty in the sounds of thunder because it makes me think of him. 🌿⛈️

My experiences with my Deities so far

Apollo: I’ve found that Apollo just likes to show up and sit with you places. It’s his way of checking in on you. One of my friends actually did a tarot and pendulum reading for me and Apollo apparently recognized me as one of his children which, like, holy shit dude. But seriously, Apollo is super loving. He’s always just kind of around, either because you feel his energy or you see crows and ravens basically everywhere. He also has a very protective energy, I feel like he would get super mad if any of his devotees are mistreated, which definitely fits with his myths. It’s super cliché but the only way to describe how you feel with connecting with him is sunny. My body feels a lot lighter and almost like it’s glowing, and I feel more at peace. This applies to most deities, but you really get the sense with Apollo that he wants you to feel good and he’ll do whatever he can to make that happen. Also he’s fuckin gorgeous. And he really likes apples for offerings, he always asks for them. 

Artemis: Artemis has such a cool energy. I feel like she’s that badass older sister that leans against walls and gives really damn good advice. When I connect with Artemis I just feel way cooler than before, like I can take on anything. Like I could fight any man and win. But don’t get me wrong, she definitely has a softer side. She’s adamant about me taking care of myself and doesn’t want anything bad to happen to me. I deal with a lot of terrible anxiety, and she’s always super reassuring that nothing will happen to me and if it does, she will smite something. Artemis gives me confidence. I also feel really called to help wildlife when I connect with her, which is fitting of course. She has some of the most protective energy out of all my deities - they all love and protect me of course, but Artemis is the most adamant about it. Probably because she knows that helps with my anxiety. I don’t know man, she’s just so badass and supportive and reassuring. She also likes apples. I also get the vibes that the Greek Gods can be a little more vague with their answers than the Norse or Celtic pantheons, but not in a bad way, just in a “you need to figure this out yourself” way, which I can respect and appreciate. 

Cernunnos: Has an incredibly wise and ancient energy. I've found he's very clear with what he wants during tarot readings, he will tell you exactly what you need to work on and do. Cernunnos is also very adamant about self care, probably because I don't do it enough, oops. He has this rule where, if you take something from the earth, you must give something back. Like when you pluck a flower, say thank you or water the ground where it stood. It takes a bit to get into the swing of doing that but you'll have such a better relationship with the land once you do. Whenever I connect with him I feel so much calmer and level-headed than usual. He's also very insistent that I meditate more often.

Thor: 100% the deity I feel most casual with. Every time I make an offering or connect with him, I immediately feel so much more chill and laid back. We make jokes with each other a lot. Also he's the biggest hype man of my entire life. If there's a major life event going on, he will send a storm or some thunder to let you know he's with you. At my High School graduation there was a lightning storm in the distance and on my last day of school he sent me a truly apocalyptic looking storm to show his support. Also, and I don’t know if this is just me, but Thor is also a massive flirt. He will compliment you and likes to be flattered right back. That seems to be a running trend with the Norse gods, they like being flattered. But they, and especially Thor, absolutely return the favor.
