I did a piece for At Dawn @thorkizine
Preorders are here! https://thorkizine.storenvy.com/
excited that pre-orders have begun for the @thorkizine at dawn, which features work from 30 artists, 15 writers, and spans 100+ pages. you’ll be able to hold this thing in your hands in all of its bound beauty, or else read it as a digital copy.
a new story from me, “vanaheim, 2274,” is in the zine! it’s preview time:
One day Thor comes back to the little house he built in the woods of Vanaheim, and Loki is waiting for him there. The door, which Thor locked before setting out to hunt, is pushed open, and he knows before he goes inside.
Still it is good, good as nothing has been good in two hundred years, or three hundred—he loses count—it is so good to see him.
you can pre-order here. all sales proceeds go to charity, and with a focus on themes of “renewal, reconciliation, and reunion,” at dawn seems like a perfect balm for 2019 woes.
Even after a thousand years, there were still more ways to learn Loki and his workings. “You never called it spying when we were children,” Loki said. A small smile pulled at Thor’s lips. “I didn’t know any better then.” “Oh, and you know better now?” Loki teased. Thor laughed under his breath. “Maybe not, I still let you on the bed.” Loki hummed and brushed gentle fingers over the back of Thor’s hand. Thor settled at the feeling, pulled back to a different time, a different version of himself. Was this a different Loki, then?
a day late, sorry! but here is a preview of my fic “The Way Home” for the @thorkizine which is a wonderful project that i’m so glad to be part of! if you haven’t pre-ordered yet you can here at their storenvy!
There’s more beer on his sweatpants, but Thor doesn’t care. He sets the leaking bottle down on the stained coffee table.
“You still haven’t told me why,” he insists to Loki.
“I needed some time for myself,” Loki says.
Thor is lucky he set down the beer a few moments ago, because he clenches his fists once again, and feels the bite of his nails meeting his palms. They dig sharply into his skin.
“Have you ever considered,” he says, all his thoughts of acceptance vanishing in a rush. “Just once, have you considered taking some time for other people? Some time for me?”
A short excerpt from my fic for At Dawn, which features some truly mindblowing thorki art and brilliant fic. It’s still on pre-order here!
