has anyone ever suggested that the reason cinderpelt was "reincarnated" was bc starclan knew she'd be supportive of leafpool?

yeah, she disagreed with her, but there's no way she wouldn't want to help her out. cinderpelt knows better than most that the clans are unfair. she's witnessed so much cruelty firsthand. she would absolutely fight the stars themselves for her beloved apprentice. that's just who she is.

starclan would never allow that. i think they did what they did to keep her from ruining theit plans. hell, maybe they even set up her death specifically so they could trap her spirit. i wouldn't put it past them, considering the level of fuckery they get up to.

idk. i just thought abt how weird it was, and realized it could've been way more sinister than it seems. (no. i don't think the authors did it on purpose. that's giving them way too much credit lol) just a thought.

back on My Bullshit Again. for a minute. there's something interesting to me about the fact that ieytd has like. negative character building. the only "concrete" information we get about Phoenix is. that they took chemistry and astronomy, and that they apparently like escape pods. so. not a whole lot there. (there's other information you get but it's debatable how reliable that really is, considering that it's Juniper who says it & it's during a sequence where lying about that sort of thing to cause confusion might actually work)

which is interesting in a way bc it's ostensibly to allow the player to sort of. build Phoenix. player insert. but there's nothing ever really defined about them, At All, and usually player inserts have Some amount of characterization in contrast.

and. idk. it's just kind of fun and interesting that Zor and Phoenix both are major characters that have like. almost nothing known About them. presumably the agency knows shit about Phoenix, but it's never brought up.

two of the most fucking opaque characters in this series are the protagonist and the antagonist, two people you'd expect to Know things about, even with the expectation of the protagonist being a player insert, but it's just. not there. Phoenix has about as much physical form as Zor does, if you believe that the hand in that one painting is Zor's and not someone else's. they're both just hands!

which you could also argue is like. a bit. something about Zor always making plans, and Phoenix always being there to stop them. they're both effective. Zor is often characterized as ruthless (which. they are), and imo Phoenix is just as. they're the point of view character, so it feels different, but the lengths they are willing to go to In Game are fucking Wild. again. they blow up a satellite they're on. (technically they're in a transport pod but like. they're connected to the satellite)

and then there's also the Phantom, who. is also extremely opaque. but they, either intentionally or unintentionally, mirror Zor's seeming resentment toward the Agency ("they used to say I was good, too. but i made a choice. and before they get you killed, i hope you realize you have the same choice"). they're not as vitriolic about it but it's still there, assuming that the "they" in the Phantom's letter is the Agency, which doesn't feel like a massive stretch of interpretation

so we have these three fuckers who all seem at least moderately powerful in their various zones, but from a player perspective, we know Shit Zip Fuckall about them. which is very interesting! it's fun!

and it's also very interesting how Zor is, in terms of their reputation, as a boss. because they do seem willing to kill the people who fail them, and they don't seem to hesitate about it. so why the Fuck are they basically playing with Phoenix. they make halfway attempts on Phoenix's life every now and then, but. cmon.

in the span of One Night, during which Juniper reports that "that agent that blew up the death engine is back", you go from what Seems to be "either get the agent that interfered with the theater incident here or kill them while they're airborne" to. uh. wanting them brought back alive to the point of telling Juniper not to shoot them. but Zor doesn't hesitate to kill Juniper or (try to kill) Prism, and they seem very short with Solaris. so this is a very targeted form of "mercy". but because we don't know much about either of them, we don't entirely know why that is!

It is funny how the powers show up and start just fucking attacking V1 and asking it where Gabriel is and what it did to him. bc I don't know if V1 knows what the fuck is going on most of the time. Last time it saw Gabriel (unless you count the story slides, which idk if V1 sees those), it fought him in Heresy and he got real weird about it. It doesn't know what the hell is going on either probably
