okay, i don’t know if you are the right person to ask but I am official desperate enough to do so... I stumbled upon that star wars one shot in which obi-wan was successfully killed during order 66, anakin still becomes vader, padme dies, the twins go both to the organas and then vader goes and kills the organas and their adopted children, realises later those were his children, kills palpatine and then returns to utapau to look for obi-wans body but only finds his bones...

my mind cannot stop thinking about this au and i honestly hope this fic was as good as i remember because i honestly just spent 2 hours going through my internet history but nada

so if you could reach out to your base and see if anyone knows that story, that would be absolutely amazing because i just want to return to my studies

Hi!  This sounds vaguely familiar, like I remember the summary, but I don’t think I read it because I generally don’t read many death fics (you have to really hook me in, unless it’s like Force Ghost Shenanigans LOL), but I swear the summary is ringing a faint bell. Ayy, I just found your Prince Diaries AU and it sounds hilarious but now I’m invested in where Obi-Wan and Yoda are and who sent Ezra and Cal on their undercover mission? Ahhh and where is Ahsoka?? How is my Jedi fam doing?

Man oh man okay so Ahsoka is actually doing fantastic for herself and it was her who yoinked Cal and Ezra from their respective corners of the galaxy and plunked them into the Academy to spy on Imperial movements and hopefully get more recruits for the rebellion.

They were the only ones who were close enough in age and had a snowball's chance in mustafar in actually getting in. And Kanan and Hera werent exactly gonna say no to Ezra getting some actual education.

She doesnt know about Luke and Leia, or the whole "hey so Vader kind off shanked the emperor" YET but she appears later on actually!

Obi-Wan is very stressed and is being driven to day drink bc hE LOST LUKE HOW THE HELL DO YOU LOSE A TINY GOLDEN CHILD but at least he knows the kid is happy?? He's laying low for now and Yoda is quietly hunting frogs in Dagobah, where they dont have holonet so he doesnt know shit about what's going on.

He and every force sensitive def felt palpatine die though so that's a plus.

I just found out that John Church Hamilton was the first one to name one his kids Laurens and thus starting a new name tradition within the family tree and idk knowing that he is the one who read through and edited his dad’s letters (and wrote the famous note “must not publish the whole of this”) and thus had a very extensive knowledge of their relationship and then deciding to pay tribute to this important person from his dad’s life is just kinda throwing me into a loop

It’s totally interesting but also, I agree, confusing. I like to think that JCH did that because he was aware of Hamilton and Laurens’s true relationship and wanted to honor it in some way, but knew he couldn’t publicly. You’ll notice that JCH (nor any other of Hamilton’s kids for that matter) named their children “Meade,” “Gilbert,” or “Morris,” again leading me to speculate this was because JCH knew that Laurens’s relationship with Hamilton was different from Meade or Lafayette or Gouvernuer Morris. (And you’re also right that it became sort of a tradition-- I counted several Laurens’s on the Hamilton family tree on Wikipedia.)

We'd be happy to try and recommend you some reading material but that's a very broad question. Do you have any specific times or places you're interested in? If not, a starting place might be our list of episodes by time period and location.

There are more general queer history books but I don’t know of a good one off the top of my head - if anyone has suggestions, feel free to reply to this!
