Shahid Concept Art Appreciation Post
Look at how cute and happy he is! Look at him being a sassy-ass bitch!
Look at all those beautiful red patterns on his vest! Look at his crown! Look at those glamorous gold greaves! Look at how prettily his Shamshir hangs off his belt!
But most of all I like how they make him stand out by having his main color be a bluish-green. Not only does it sharply contrast with the orange-red on the gambeson and inner lining of the cloak, but it's also an interesting, seemingly contradictory color choice when we consider Shahid the character with what limited screen time he has.
Blue, at is core, is the universally appealing color of calmness, order, and loyalty. Lighter blues invoke the natural landscape surrounding us, especially the sky and sea. This specific shade of blue Shahid wears is similar to the color of a robin bird's egg, which in itself sometimes can skew closer to teal.
Teal in and of itself has its own color symbolism: Elegance, individuality, rejuvination.
Its negative traits invoke depression, sadness, and fragility. Teal is a color negatively symbolizes paranoia and protection of the self.
In Iran - a place that does heavy lifting for Almyra's inspiration - blue, green, and blue-green hues that lay in between are considered sacred. The colors invoke paradise and sanctity, usually being the main color choices for sacred buildings, namely mosques. There's even an official "Persian Green" named on the color grid.
This is probably the closest color I can think of for Shahid's vest.
Perhaps this color choice is Shahid's way of asserting himself as a hopeful King of Almyra? By embodying good virtues and making himself look more appealing? It would probably help, seeing that he's not the most conventionally attractive-looking fellow especially compared to his younger half-brother. And for an axe-wielding flyer, he's quite well-put together. His default pose for his in-game model even mirrors the fanciful, "pretty" male characters - like Yuri and Lorenz.
And you cannot help but note his drive, even if he makes for a poor general.
Yes, his attempts at taking over Leicester are poorly thought out and probably cost a lot of human and monetary resources. But damn if he isn't desperate. His response to Claude's offer of mercy says it most.
It takes on quite the new meaning when we learn that Khalid is the King's favorite...
Is someone up for fluffy thots?
look at this Majestic Boy™
Nolan Patrick downplay his looks by staying greasy and growing ugly 'stache so one of his sisters could claim to be the prettiest child of their family and thats luv
i give you first year akaashi keiji
I'm just watching spn for the first time so im sure this has been said to death and is not a new line of thought > the way dean obviously (bc they tell us lol) blames himself for his dads death vs struggling w how his dad treated him vs how he grew up having to look after sam by himself vs the scene of him beating the shit out of his car. It's the emotional repression for me it's the charged emotional reaction for me it's the anger for me. it really is hitting me in the brain
