Not going to lie but I felt like something was up with the way Jesy left Little Mix.

Not that this dampens their messaging about female empowerment, at least to me, because it feels organic for a group of gal pals to have some distance and potential bad blood after years.

Even the closest of girlfriends need their space and have some animosity somewhere.

The saddest part about Alec promising Jace that he won’t let Lilith get to him was hope. Jace spent days in his own mind, with Lilith taking away his hope of escape every cycle of the torture and his failed attempts at taking his life. But then Alec and Izzy come along and he’s so happy to see them. When they talk about taking him home, he’s scared. But then Alec promises him that he won’t let Lilith take him away again. And this is Alec, his parabatai, the other half of his soul. Alec will keep his promise, he always has. And he probably felt a glimmer of hope underneath all that fear he’s been accustomed to. But then Lilith comes and takes him away again, away from his family, from Alec, from his source of hope. And Jace knew all he’s going to feel from now own is more pain.

believe me, the lack of visibility for praise kink is just as frustrating for those of us in the scene, ughh :< I loathe that humiliation and punishments are viewed as more important so that’s all anyone ever sees *sighs wearily*

For me (and this is so subjective, and as I've said, I'm not in the community at all), physical punishment is just irritating and upsetting, but not much of a deterrent against anything. Withhold affection and/or praise and... that's punishment, because that's what I value - being set to a task, striving to meet it, and being rewarded when I do. But there are precious few people in this country (US), at least, who can manage this in their daily lives; our whole society is punitive as a default reflex, to the extent that we preemptively punish people and never acknowledge when good work is done. In management, in schools, everywhere. So, in that sense, I guess it's unsurprising that people don't understand how this works... and that's why I LOVE this kind of fic - because, like I said above, it shows how things could be so satisfyingly different.

Part of me is frustrated that I can't do anything to help. Thank goodness for those people who are there right now helping out. Part of me is frustrated that there are people out there who are so high on themselves that they think it's okay to ridicule the significance of another human life. And then of course, I'm just fucking devastated that this actually happened. It's senseless, it's caused suffering and fear. Regardless of the motive behind this, death and injury has happened in such a violent manner and sympathy can't ever be considered a bad thing in this situation, and it fucking saddens me that people are condescending others for expression such sympathy.

With really big tragedies and such, I'm extremely sympathetic and can often go into extended emotional distress because of it. There are people like this and often turn their heads because they just want to avoid the stress it causes them. Which is okay. I can understand that. But I want to understand it, and reading through everything is just very overwhelming at the moment.
