Yay! could I get phan playing in the leaves with their son??
Your Trivia Prize:
“Papa, no!”
“You have to wear a hat, Dillon.”
Dil pouted but let his father put the red wool hat on his head for their excursion into the back garden. Phil tied the strings under Dil’s chin, firmly securing the hat on his son’s head.
“And don’t take it off,” Phil warned. Dil hated wearing hats and gloves and pretty much anything invented to keep him from catching cold. Dan often joked that they’d have to move to Florida to keep Dil happy. Dil had firmly told him he was English and staying that way.
Phil put on his own autumn gear then opened the back door of their home. Dan was outside, raking the dry leaves into massive piles.
“Ready?” Dan asked Dil who stared at the leaves with wonder. He nodded, practically shaking with excitement. Dan took his hand, Phil took Dil’s other hand and, together, all three ran and jumped into the color mound of leaves.
“Again!” Dil shouted. The six year old ran back to the patio and sprinted into the leaves again.
“Hey Phil.”
“Hmm?”
Dan threw a whole collection upon Phil’s head, catching him by surprise. Dil giggled until Phil did the same to him. Then it was Dan’s turn to laugh hysterically. Dil and Phil made eye contact, formulating a silent plan.
“Three, two, one!” Phil shouted. Both he and his son threw massive amounts of leaves on Dan, burying the man.
“Okay! I give! I give!” Dan protested, laughing. The family continued playing in the leaves until Dil decided it was time for hot chocolate. His parents wholeheartedly agreed.
