I relate so much to Arthur because it's clear that having breakfast is the only reason he gets up in the morning.
Upon very close inspection I've come to notice that Arthur's armour is adorned with Little flowers (tulips) and what seem like butterfly wings
AS IF he couldn't get any cuter!!!
Ok, idk of anyone's already thought about this possible magic reveal, but yesterday I was rewatching ep 3x10, Queen of hearts, and a scene hit me just like the first time I watched it. At a certain point Merlin is disguised as Dragoon to save Gwen from death penalty for the love poultice hidden under Arthur's pillow (obv put there by Morgana), but he can't turn himself back to normal Merlin, so he has to flee from Arthur and the guards and in order to stop him Arthur throws a knife that catches Dragoon's sleeve so that Merlin has to pull it to escape. Later when Merlin is back to his younger self we see him hiding Dragoon's red vest behind his back while he's wearing a Blue shirt, which, I suppose, he must have kept under the vest for the whole time. Now, WHAT IF a piece of the vest and of Merlin's shirt were torn by Arthur's knife so that Arthur in retrieving his blade takes those pieces too and keeps them for no particular reason.... Until One day, while Merlin is serving him breakfast, he notices that Merlin's sleeves misses Just that little piece of fabric that came away with part of Dragoon's vest! He'd ask something like 'Merlin, what is this?', and Merlin would act all indifferent and Say 'I don't know what you're talking about' and he can't be convinced, so Arthur Waits until Merlin is asleep to compare the torn piece he has with Merlin's broken sleeve, and they fit perfectly but he can't explain how and from then he is tormented by doubt and tries to catch Merlin doing magic anyways that's basically It, welcome to my Ted talk
Thoughts on Merlin 4x9, Lancelot du Lac
I often think about the poor person who'll find Gwen's enchanted bracelet in the cell and will therefore fall desperately in love with Lancelot. Rip.
My hc is that Gwaine always knew that Merlin was a sorcerer, he noticed him cast a spell during one of their fights and was 'oh, okay' and since no one around him seemed to mind either he always assumed that at least Arthur and all of the knights knew it... . 'Oh you guys didn't know it? Too bad, anyway yesterday at the tavern~' everybody else: 0_0
Thoughts on Merlin, 4x13 and 5x2
Both times when confronted with Morgana Arthur doesn't strike, he talks first. "What happened to you Morgana?"
The first time he sheathes his sword, the second one he isn't so naive... If only he'd had a sword.
His question is genuine: he doesn't know what happened to her, one day he woke up and the Morgana he knew was gone.
His question is a peace offering, both times he has tears in his eyes - as does she. But while she is always the first to act, he doesn't want to. It's clear that all he can think about is: "if only I'd known before it was too late."
This question is what sets him apart from her: she has decided to follow Uther's loweliest teachings, he is trying to discard them.
It kills me to think what a great king he could have been if he'd been given the chance and the information, if he hadn't been kept in the dark for all those years.
