One thing about me as a Miraculous fan is I care about nothing more than Adrien being active in his story. Take that away and there’s little else left to keep me interested. The Love Square is great but only when Adrien is an equal and active participant. When it comes to fanworks, I’ll give anything a chance if it can convince me of its own merits, but as far as canon goes, I expected a satisfying conclusion to the same story that made me a fan all those years ago and has inspired my devotion to these characters to this day.

I fully acknowledge that Felix’s arc is a major storyline particularly in Season 5, and it draws on groundwork that was laid in earlier seasons; but coherent, complete, and thoughtfully executed as it may be, it is its own beast and can never replace nor fill the need for a heartening, hard-earned true end to The Adrien Story.

Everything with Felix feels more like a spin-off to me than a natural continuation of the same story that began with Ladybug and Chat Noir. If i say i can’t fully grasp how Felix’s introduction into this run of Miraculous was necessary, I don’t mean it to degrade the value of his narrative in any way. His contributions to “The New Adventures of Ladybug” are crucial and notable. I just mean I don’t see how it served to better tell the story that was already being told than any other option, and to say I’m less invested in this new story is an understatement.
