Have You Helped Out Lately?

I'm a native New-Yorker. I've lived here all my life.

It's been absolutely mind-boggling to see all of the devastation that has resulted from Hurricane Sandy.

I was lucky enough to be in a safe zone of Staten Island. I lost power for a few days and had a lack of food, but I am a lot luckier than others in my community. 

New Jersey and Staten Island were hit the worst. Staten Island has the most fatalities and the numbers keep growing every day. 

There is a lack of gasoline, heat, lights, food, clothing.

People have lost their homes, all of their belongings, their faith.

I ask of you, PLEASE donate any clothes, food, blankets, toys, etc. to New York/New Jersey. 

We truly need it. 

If you can donate your time to come out and help us clean our streets, it would be so greatly appreciated by so many struggling victims.

Hope is scarce. Help from others is what we need.

Get out there and help out! Even if it isn't Sandy related, volunteer in your own community!

After a storm, birds always sing.

You may be going through some very difficult times, but remember that it truly does get better.

You're an amazing person. Don't forget to look for the silver lining. It's there.

I've been through it. I thought there was no escape. I was doomed to live a life of constant sorrow. But that's NOT true. I was in a horrible place just a few months ago, but with the support of friends, family, and getting a life coach, I've never been happier.

What does this quote mean to you? What advice do you have for someone who doesn't believe it will get better?

On this day, November 1st, 2012, I am OFFICIALLY launching The Happy Place Campaign! 

Whether I help one person, or one million people with this project, it's all about doing what you love and doing what you believe in.

I believe in helping people become the best person they can be and overcoming any hardships that may be standing in the way of them doing that.

I hope that on this site, you can find a comfort that will help you overcome whatever it is that is holding you down.
