Succumbing to his temper was a characteristic Quinlan had attempted to smother long ago. However, he had found that the current take over of New York had brought his muffled emotions for The Master to the forefront of his mind. It seemed he was dealing with his adolescent rage all over again, one he had channeled into war.

Once again he found peace through death as he fought alongside his own limited kind against the very thing that they themselves were. The only thing that kept the apart from the strigoi in the streets was the horrid worm that they carried. 

Tonight, he had found his place on an urban battlefield. The Born slashed through his enemies as if it were simply a chore. He seemed to dance around them effortlessly, taking their lives with ease. Satisfaction rose within him as he imagined each blow personally wounding The Master. 

As he demolished another group, the remaining strigoi fled, the desire to preserve themselves far greater than the need to kill. Yet, the half-breed still felt the presence of something. However this form was different. The distinct sound of blood rushing through veins filled his ears. Turning he caught a glimpse of a man crouching behind a park vehicle. Reaching out to him with his voice, he spoke into the human's mind.
