I’m an old-school metal-head. I listen to about 3-4 albums a day—much of it the NWOBHM, hard rock, punk, metal, and thrash I grew up with. Conundrum: I recommend groups to my younger metal-centric friends, and they have no clue who I’m talking about. They recommend newer groups to me, and I have no clue who they’re talking about. Just recently, one of my friends was playing one of his ‘playlist,’ and a song caught my attention (Recharging the Void). I’ve spent a week listening to Vektor’s three studio albums—purchasing all three. Sci-fi laced, melodic thrash-metal—I dig it; these are solid albums from start to finish. And +1 for the lead singer/guitarist sporting a Violence (Eternal Nightmare) t-shirt in just about every pic I’ve seen of him.
