Witch tip: if you sew, keep leftover tiny scraps of thread and fabric in a jar near your front door as a ward. Spirits and fae will not be able to resist counting each piece, and their memories are short. Plus you cut down on waste, get a cool decoration for your home, and can use the tiny craps of thread in color magic/spell jars!

I mended this vintage pillow case today. It’s not the prettiest, but it’s certainly prettier than the gaping hole that it fixed.

Mending things is a great opportunity to use color magic. I chose blue here because blue is a peaceful color and I’m sleeping on this. Deep, I know.

I’ve been researching thread magic lately and though the resources are a bit scarce (I’ve seen mostly cross stitch) I’m still pretty excited about it. I enjoy sewing greatly.

I have such a hard time cutting fabric on the grain line! After using scissors for awhile I'm thinking about investing in a rotary cutter as my next tool purchase since I've heard they make life a little easier. My husband got a bunch of sanding tools for free that someone was going to get rid of. So I'm kind of excited to try those out on some future props. I am planning a costume at the moment. I will be waiting until we're pretty settled down in Idaho to start on it though. I'll just say that it will be a character that wears armor and a bodysuit. She also has a big ass weapon! Guess who? :P
