peter had sat himself in the middle of ‘champions park’ with his battered laptop and sandwich box scattered around him, his attention was mainly on his screen when he felt the presence of someone else near him. “did you know that lions are the only animals capable of clapping to a beat?” he finally turned to them, one eyebrow raised and an impressed look written across his face. “neat, huh? it’s crazy what you learn from the internet these days.”

peter had never been so out of his element. even fighting criminals seemed to feel a lot more natural than where he found himself sitting in the far corner of a bar, colourful glass held between both his hands as his knee bounced up and down in the almost hidden booth.

he had been waiting a little over half an hour, purely because he always found himself arriving annoyingly early to everything, and admittedly had been nursing his drink for just as long. his eyes darted toward the other patrons and his jaw was clenched tight...boy was he out of his depth and in desperate need of any kind of distraction. peter found himself finding the distraction via his phone; his head soon ducked down and his attention on the cracked screen as he waited for the other.

peter had been patrolling for around two hours when he (finally) spotted something suspicious...not that he was excited for crime. it was just a glimpse of something at first, a small niggle in the back of his head that he only gave into out of boredom and decided to silently swing closer. once the other was in his eye-line peter could clearly see something was about to happen, and that something didn’t seem like good news. “hey, sir?” he finally spoke up, stepped forward and mentally prepared himself for this to get messy. “d’you have a permit for whatever you’re doing right now? ‘cause you’re gonna need a permit. this place is crazy about permits, and i wouldn’t wanna have to come over there and fix whatever the hell is going on.”

“hey !” peter started, perhaps a little too enthusiastically as he approached the man seemingly standing alone. the young male was wonkily wearing a white ‘F.E.A.S.T’ tee over the top of a long-sleeved shirt as if he’d only just pulled it on last minute while holding a clipboard with several leaflets attached pressed against his chest, an awkward smile planted on his lips. “are you interested in talking about our charity today? i promise it wont be a waste of time. we have lots of options for hands on volunteering as well as several donation schemes. or if you’re busy i can give you the number of our HQ and a nifty leaflet that can get me to stop talking? choice is all yours.”

location: campus beach

peter was standing halfway on the sand between the water and campus, hand just above his brow as he blocked the sun, dressed in his board shorts and whatever pun related tee he grabbed first. “please tell me you have some sun cream on you? i forgot mine at the apartment and i can already tell this is going to end badly if i don’t reapply some pretty soon.” he paused for a moment, eye widening as he remembered more forgotten items. “do you also happen to have a spare towel?”

parker never once imagined himself trying to ruin someone's wedding. but even after a year of keeping his distance, he can't stop loving letha. callahan is a good guy, he's aware—almost perfect, even. but what parker has with her is different.

dressed up as a server for the venue, he freezes when he finally sees the bride-to-be. "um... hello." he waves at her awkwardly. "i got your invitation, but... i can explain..." speak now or forever hold your peace, as they say. "you can't marry him. i mean, you can, that's your decision but..." focus, parker, focus. "you don't love him. not in the way you love me."

sure, peter wasn’t technically human anymore but seeing an actual alien just walking around admittedly took him by surprise. he pulled himself onto a nearby streetlamp with his webbing and looked down at mantis, head tilting to the side before he raised his voice loud enough for her to hear. “hey, ma’am, do you need any help? i don’t think we’ve met before -- i feel like i would’ve remembered.”

“do you think i need more hobbies?” peter turned to the person next to them, features slightly scrunched to match the uncertainty in his voice. “all i seem to do is go to oscorp and come home. sure there’s a few things in between -- but people are meant to have hobbies, right?” the sigh he let out was more aimed at himself than the unfortunate person who happened to be in peter’s line of fire. “do you think i look like a person who would roller skate?”
