Three Black Crows: a D&D Adventure
Hey friends! An Idea for a D&D campaign setting/adventure hook has taken root in me and it is all thanks to Blackmore’s Night!!!
The campaign idea was inspired by the amazing work of the band Blackmore’s Night! I was listening to Three Black Crows and got inspired to create a bardic college/medieval funland that is under some form of insidious attack behind all the merriment, mead and mirth. Every day in the village is an adventurer’s rest station, but at night everything changes into an endless party!
There will be Shakespearean/dramatic plays performed on public stages. Tavern casks overflowing into the cups of friends old and new. Houses where those seeking candlelit conversations and conspiracies outside of the overwhelming revel outside.
Will your adventurers join the party and forget their troubles after their last harrowing adventure? Will they dive into the bottomless secrets behind Blackmore’s founding, or will they snag the troublemakers who conspire against this nightly celebration?
I’m thinking the settlement of Blackmore is susceptible to the influence of local legends and fairytales--perhaps they are more real than the storytellers should dare to repeat? I already have an idea for the mysterious Three Black Crows--combining inspiration from the webcomic Run Freak Run.
