I love Three Hats fics. Like, the idea of Loop having to deal with knowing they've failed TWICE now, and Siffrin usually going through some form of crisis while newfrin is just "What do you mean there's a time loop...what do you MEAN you were sent to guide me?!...WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE ALTERNATE VERSIONS OF ME WHO FAILED TO ESCAPE?!?"

I asked Marko to take me to the best place for mixed grill in Belgrade. He said the place to go was Skadarlija street.  It's the bohemian district of Belgrade. All the restaurants had live music and outdoor patio seating. It was a very pleasant looking place considering it was the one of the main tourist drags.

Marko chose Three Hats because he thought it looked better than the other 15 restaurants on the street. I couldn't tell if he was onto something or not.  

The meal started with a bowl of boiled veal soup. It was like eating chicken noodle soup with no meat and layer of grease on top.

The next dish was a salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, onion, and cheese. The cheese was like feta and I should have just ordered a brick of it for myself. It was great.

The mixed grill arrived with four different meats piled on top of fries. There was the same hamburger patty I had the night before, grilled chicken, a kebab shaped version of the hamburger patty I had the night before, and a pork chop. All of the meat had the grill marks you would expect from a grill, and a layer of grease like they were cooked in a pan. It was weird. I couldn't really get into the texture of any of them. I barreled my way through as much of the meat as I could. I felt really stupid for being such a picky eater and wanted to overcome my problem. With each bite I started to create more and more of a texture issue in my head to the point I had to stop eating. Each bite made me feel like a pathetic, spoiled, American. It didn't help that my hosts were trying to shove more meat my direction.

After we finished the meal we all got a cup of coffee. Coffee is always consistent. Usually grilled meat is too. The waiter found out I was from America, and told me a story in Serbian about serving George H.W. Bush at the restaurant in the 80's. Then he brought out three glasses of rakija for us to toast to my visit and George H.W. Bush. After the toast it seemed George Bush had saved me from all my eating transgressions. What a guy.

Vue De Monde - Menu Du Jour

And because I did the Movida's post yesterday, I got reminded of the longgggggggg overdued post that I had intended to do. Wayyyyyy back in July, 6th.

Presenting... The Menu

The Menu Gourmand is actually available for lunch as well but because of $$money$$ constraint, we had to make do with their Menu Du Jour. I would say, Menu Gourmand ♥ Gastronomes Menu is definitely a much much muchhhh better experience. As much as I would like to say because it is not my first time at Vue De Monde, but seriously, their Menu Gourmand ♥ Gastronomes Menu is way much better. You can read my Menu Gourmand ♥ Gastronomes Menu dinner here. LET ME EMPHASIZED AGAIN TO SAVE UP AND TRY THEIR BEST. But at least we had good company. ( ∩▼∩ ) Which is what matters most.

Our entree; we each took a different one. Seiche, Pomme, Betterave Cuttlefish, apple, beetroot

Poulet, Pomme de Terre, Fleurs Chicken, potato, flowers

Feve, Moelle, Fumee, Fromage De Chever Broad beans, smoked marrow, goat's cheese

Salade D'oeuf de Canard Smoked duck egg salad

GUESS WHICH ONE WAS MINE! ♥ To whoever who had guessed it right! It's so easy since I am always constant on my food choices. Seiche, Pomme, Betterave, of course.

Main Course; we each took a different one. Hapuka Et Radi Hapuka & Radish

Chevre, Celeri, Coing Goat, celeriac, quince

And 2 other missing photos! Must be from my camera because the other two choices are mine and Bf's. I can't seem to find the folder! ( ● ∩ ● ) ✿ Crabe Et Moules Crab, quinoa, mussels ✿ Le Veau Arc-en-ciel Rainbow silver beet & veal shank

Our dessert; because of our strong preference, we only picked 2 out of 4 and shared between 2. Ricotta Et Fenouil Ricotta, fennel, malt

I must say, DESSERTS WERE AWESOME. Better than the previous that we had. So, if anybody reading because you happened to be googling for Vue De Monde, I suggest for you to request for either of the above mentioned dessert. (￣∇￣ ) SLURPSSSS.

And ah. Our little surprise from them (Kind of expected this since we had been surprised before) Their so-called "COMPLIMENTARY" treats to end our meal.
