Without looking to see who was on the other side, Aiden ripped open the door. Ready to give whoever was standing there a piece of his mind. But instead of cursing the person who had interrupted his solitude, he was shocked into silence. It was the girl from the other night. Pretty much the last person he expected to see on his doorstep.
“Hey, Liv.” Aiden eyed her outfit appreciatively. Apparently, she had come for a reason. And he approved wholeheartedly. “What are you doing here?” he asked as if he didn’t know the answer. “I didn’t think I’d see you again.”
“Yeah, sorry about the other night. I kind of freaked out and bailed.”
“No worries. I get it.” Aiden waved her inside and closed the door. “What brings you by?”
“Well, I, uh…. came to see what you were up to. I went by the club first and one of your friends - Ollie, I think he said - told me you were here. He said it would be okay to come by.”
Aiden smiled. Of course, Ollie had told her that. “He was right.”
“Are you sure? Cause it kinda looks like you’re busy.” Olivia frowned and crossed her arms in front of her. “I would have called first, but I didn’t have your number. I know it’s kind of rude just to stop by. You could have company here for all I know.”
“It’s just me here. And you’re not interrupting anything.”
“You’re sure?”
“I’m sure.” Aiden took another long look at Olivia and silently thanked Ollie for having the foresight to send her over despite his warning about wanting to be alone. “To be honest with you, Liv, even I were busy, seeing you in that outfit would make me change my plans.”
Olivia blushed at his compliment. “Oh, uhm, well, good. That makes me feel better about coming over.”
“Happy to hear it. Actually I’m glad you’re here.”
“You are?”
“Absolutely. Before you got here, I was going to have to get drunk and go to bed all alone. But now, you can keep me company.” Aiden smiled and gestured for her to follow him. “You want a drink?”
“Please.”
“Then have a seat.”
