'Nature's Eye', illustration of the poem by Pagan poet Mark Westmore
Three Hares pendant carved by knife in chocolate Oak. . The origin and meaning of the Three Hares motif is widely contested by different cultures and religions; it appears in Buddhism, Islam, Christian and Judaism architecture and art and depictions have been noted as far apart as China, Iran, Russia, Germany and here in the UK. This disparate set of claims for meaning and ownership are the reason that I’ve only now carved this piece despite having wanted to carve it for a couple of years. For myself, personally, I love the motifs’ association with the lunar cycle and nature. . . . #threehares #hare #rabbit #symbolism #woodcarving #woodart #handmade #handcarved #art #artist #nature #craft #maker #makersmovement #inspiredbynature #craftsposure #imadethis #calledtobecreative #postitfortheaesthetic #creativehappylife #beautifulthings https://www.instagram.com/p/BxsGl3-HY-o/?igshid=1n2sb22raqi8u

My interpretation of the symbol of ‘The Three Hares’, or rabbits. Earliest recorded use of this symbol is in cave temples in China in the 6th century, but also associated with Buddhism, Islamic designs and Medieval Europe in Cathedrals, churches and Heraldry. Have you spotted the optical illusion?
And if you go chasing rabbits...🐇Happy Bunny Day 🐰🐇 #bunnytattoo #instabunny #creepybunny #creepster #threehares #pagansofinstagram #witcheaster #ostara
The hare is strongly represented in world mythology and from ancient times has had divine associations. Its elusiveness and unusual behaviour, particularly at night, have reinforced its reputation as a magical creature. The hare was believed to have mystical links to the female cycle and to the moon which governed it. Helen got me this great T-shirt for my birthday and I adore it! #hares #threehares #easter #eostre #ostara #witchbitch
I refinished a little end table and painted it. Fun project. #upcycle #threehares
