This is throwingmyheartinyourhands. For some reason it isn't letting me post as anything but anonymous. Honestly, I used to be just like you. I didn't think I had a choice as a white person when it came to these things because I have no idea what it's like to be a person of color, you're right. I don't have any idea and it's why I respect them. Which is why I firmly believe that people of color should respect white people right back. And nothing about that is "supremacist". It's EQUAL.

Again, this has to do with history and context, because the history of white-supermacy (that is stil ongoing) actually makes it hard for a PoC to ever wield so much power in their hands to be able to get anywhere near oppressing white people right now, and that’s why they can’t ”propagate” any ”bashing of whites”, all they’re doing is telling the truth of their oppression and making white people take responsibility for the toxic shit we say and do that promotes white supermacy (even if we don’t know it does). That’s why it’s problematic when white people say and do things against PoC, it’s because of the impact it has, it’s because of the already established system of oppression it all solidifies. That’s why ignoring all of this and assuming actions and words from both sides have the same source, the same weight, the same meaning, the same impact is erasing the notion of a white supermacy all together and with that propagating it.

No. You're missing the point. I wasn't "talking down" to anyone. I've read history books. A majority of my friends are not white. I see what they go through. I'm just saying if we have any hope of attempting to live equally, act like an equal, not like you deserve treatment over someone else. And that goes both ways.

BUT THE POINT IS you’re literally getting no harm done to you, even with the hurt feelings you might get, you’re not getting discriminated against, you’re not getting harassed, all that’s happening is PoC being tired of white people who don’t realize the state of things and how they make it worse. That’s literally all, but since the people who get to decide on how PoC get treated socially and legally are still white people, it hardly even makes a difference. All you’re really opposing here is PoC having a united consciousness of their issues and getting together to do something about them.

And, lol, don’t pull the ”I gave PoC friends” card, it doesn’t matter, because you still don’t seem to get it. It won’t help if they’re nice when they confront their oppressors, they have every right to be violent about it as that’s the only way you can have liberation from a violent oppressor.
