it drives me so crazy that simon lost the mark of cain before everything turned to shit in thule. not because he lost it but because the fate that was tied to it remained.

Cain lamented, "My punishment is more than I can bear. Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth...

even his threat to jace, that he'd kill him the next time he saw him like

...and whoever finds me will kill me" / God responded, "Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.

simon was punished to walk the world alone because he couldnt save his friends. jace became a stranger to him as god did to cain, and by doing so jace ensured that the next time he found simon would be the end of him, thanks to simon's vow of vengeance.

it's like the curse seeped into his veins somehow. it protected him plenty in both timelines, but it didn't leave him wandering as a solitary stranger to the world until it was gone and the only thing he had left to live for was the potential of killing his brother (jace, who shared his blood with him), and thereby betraying god (clary, who put the curse upon him). the curse became something less mystical, adapting to reality, playing itself out almost like a prophecy for when its power could no longer live inside simon.

I really do hope we see Thule!Simon at least some point in TWP because I actually think he’s potential be a really interesting character.

Like I really wanna know the context of Simon saying “I’ll kill you Jace herondale”. I don’t know if “context” is the right word but like, I wanna know what the situation was. Like was it just after Clary died? Or was it something else?? Another battle???

I’m also curious to know the guilt he feels about clary dying, it obviously isn’t his fault BUT it was Simon who gave Clary glorious and is probably the reason that she even got to confront Lilith. I think it would be an interesting difference in the book- the last time Lilith had tried to kill Clary, Simon had the mark of Cain to protect him and clary- while this time he couldn’t.

I ALSO WANT TO KNOW HIS REACTION TO IZZY’s DEATH l!!!

Also, I’m so curious about what point did he go missing?? Like was it right after Clary’s death, or a little later?? Unless the book mentioned this and I completely forgot. But I’m so curious, and I mean I think the book does insinuate he’s alive- since Thule!Maia has a tattoo for Alec, Magnus & Clary- and I’d argue that at that point in time Maia was probably closest to Simon in the group.

Imagine in TWP there’s a scene where Thule!Simon come into contact with our Clary and Isabelle. He doesn’t know that our Simons a shadowhunter so while he acts extremely similar to our Simon both Clary and Izzy immediately freak out because Simon suddenly looks 8 years younger. Also where are all his marks?

Thule!Simons just super confused when Clary asks him if he’s a time traveler from the past.

Can you imagine how it must be for Thule!Simon, to be the one who helped Lilith to bring Sebastian back in name of not losing Clary, just for her to die later because of that decision. And the coast of that decision, not just for him, but for the whole world.

Do you have any theories about why Thule!Simon wasn't with the whole Thule!livvy resistance if hes alive

My main theory is that he is in hiding because he has been made aware by someone (maybe Tessa? as she can see into other worlds) that he would be hunted by Sebastian because of his Mark of Cain and Daylighter abilities.

I believe he will come out of hiding once he somehow finds out that Thule!Jace is out on the hunt for Clary and will try to stop him.
