so, me and my new dnd group are in the first arc of odyssey of the dragonlords. thought i’d share my boy in his full glory; i’m playing Ekho, a siren bard of epic poetry. he’s on the Cursed One epic path; you see his wings in all their beauty here, but in-game, they’re a shriveled, scorched mess. 

he defied Sydon in his youth and paid the price. his family paid worse, cursed into harpies. now he just wants to save them.

Thylea Apokalypsis [Odyssey of the Dragonlords]

Last map from the series, Odyssey of the Dragonlords done for Arcanum Worlds. This one had me make changes to the original Thylea map and add in 4 devastions. These were from a kraken, a tarrasque, an ancient shadow dragon, and then some sort of hodge-podge creature. They said something like a greek godzilla, but i think it came out a bit different.

I then added the apokalypse feel to other parts of the map.More lava and volcanic activity, fire, floods, etc. I had a good time with that. And the whole series, for that matter. This was a great project to have been a part of.  :)

Isle of Yonder [Odyssey of the Dragonlords]

More of the maps from the Odyssey of the Dragonlords, from Arcanum Worlds.There will be a more from those mythic lands. We're continuing with the Isle of Yonder, which was once a base of the Gygins, if I recall. That lower right hand area used to have a mountain/volcano, till it blew, leaving that craggy bay. I love islands, so this project was fun just for that. City of Mytros [Odyssey of the Dragonlords]

Welcome to the city of Mytros, largest city from Arcanum Worlds' new Odyssey of the Dragonlords setting. Arcanum Worlds is James Ohlen, Jesse Sky, and others who had worked together at Bioware, or in the video game industry. They've released a free players guide, as well as a very successful kickstarter - here's what they say about it... "In a land where even the gods are bound by oaths and prophecies...

Odyssey of the Dragonlords

Odyssey of the Dragonlords is live on Kickstarter. Last year I had the pleasure of working with James Ohlen and Jesse Sky, both previously of Bioware. James is well known for his work with the original Baldur's Gate rpg video games. They retired from Bioware and started Arcanum Worlds, producing rpg content.

I did a number of maps for their new Odyssey campaign setting, which is inspired by ancient Greek myth. I posted two of those maps so far - Estoria and Thylea [Odyssey of the Dragonlords]. Those were released in a free players guide. Now the kickstarter is running for the campaign book. Go check it out on Kickstarter. :)

Last week in Thylea, a recap recap (12)

I have left my notes from last week in the wrong house, so this week there’s a recap of the recap (and the amazing notes from @m-siecle) until I can get at my notebook again:

Last week in Thylea – Kallis walks out of the fake tomb straight into another skeletal minotaur, Mania shuts a door on some skeletons, Cleophe charges in and Iliana impulsively pulls a lever. After they kill all of them, Kallis notices something isn’t right at the end of the far too narrow corridor and thus makes sure she is the only one caught in between the spiked walls moving in. Azelma and Phryne run to get back to the lever but Azelma outpaces Phryné significantly. Azelma pulls the lever and the walls stop moving. Sadly ghouls appear to attack Phryné alone in the corridor and a real Minotaur appears in front of Iliana. Iliana makes it laugh, Cleophe goes down taking all its hits, Kallis finds Xander’s tomb and he gets up to help them. He makes the Minotaur drop his weapons and shield so Mania can bonk him to death. He gives his axe to Kallis and his breastplate to Cleophe.

Phryne has a very contained breakdown in front of boring Ochos Arkelander’s tomb, Kallis leaves her mithral sword in Estor’s tomb and they look at some more tombs. On the way back a messenger from Mytros on a bronze dragon tells them King Acastus wants to consult with them. They spend the night in Estoria, Azelma learns a new spell from her grandmother and Azelma and Phryne talk about trust.

The next morning, Kallis has a horse and a conversation about her past and future with Mania. They achieve some actual communication about their feelings. They all go to see Volkan, Iliana gives some blood for her amulet, they ask for Xander’s arms to be repaired and learn that Volkan made Kyrah instruments that control the weather. Mania’s hair could string a harp like that.

Mania and Kallis go to see Aesop to get the cursemark on Mania’s arm removed and hear something about weird noises in the Colossus. The rest ask Kyrah where her instruments are and learn she lost them to her religious band with the Winds.

And that’s all for this extremely abbreviated session of the Thylead!
