Already being drenched from the rain, Yoongi let out a small gasps from the cold water that ran down his back under his shirt ― God he hated the rain, If it wasn’t for the nice weather of Autumn to be spoiled, It would be the by far the rain that would ruin the whole season. Some people enjoyed it, Him on the other hand, DIDN’T. Quickly hurrying into the building that the male had gestured him into, Yoongi sighed and brought his hands up to the soaked sleeves of his bomber jacket. ❝God I hate the rain…❞ He sighed with closed eyes, droplets of water coming off his mint coloured locks of now blocked hair as well as his clothing. The small boy basically shivered in his uncomfortable state, His eyes finally looking to see his surroundings now.
❝ Am I sure? I’mean, if it makes you feel better than YEAH I’m pretty sure. ❞
It all starts off with a one tiny fib.
A middle aged woman and her two obnoxious children. Kid number one, a total brat, won’t stop throwing a tantrum over the fact his overprotective mother won’t let him kick around a few balls with the other kids. She rolls her eyes and hands him an object all the young kids nowadays do for fun– a book. HA! Now kid number two, he has a case of the sticky fingers. One finger up his nose, digging for gold, while his free hand roams around the playground in search of random shit to hide in his mother’s purse when she’s not looking. For y’know, safe keeping.
This is where Zero comes into play. The guy right beside him? A mere fellow citizen, misfortunate enough to stumble along Zero’s own string of lies and antics. He feigns distress, chapped lips pulling into a pout as he tattletales on kid number two for stealing his lighter, WHICH, may or may not be safely tucked away in his pockets. Informing the mother is a no-go, ‘cause look at her! Accuse her kids of theft and she’ll cause an unnecessary uproar along the lines of ‘my kids are angels, shame on you’! So then what does it come down to? Stealing her purse, that’s what! A guys gotta eat somehow!
❝ It’s only illegal if you get caught. ‘sides, I’m only taking back what’s mine, right? ❞
“Like this,” Li Hua gently clasped the toddler’s hands together as the two girls sat in front of a modestly built home temple in honor of Niulang and Zhinü. Li Hua was seated with the little girl on her lap, hands pressed together as the two left an offering. This year, Li Hua chose fruits - all seasonal and delicious ripe fruits - and face powder.
“If we pray well, they’ll make you a beautiful little girl, yes?” Li Hua cooed against the top of the baby’s head, eyes closing as she showered her only child with kisses. “You’ll be the prettiest lady anyway,” she then added, smiling as the little girl giggled, trying to wriggle her hands out of her mother’s gentle grasp.
“Do you think Niulang and Zhinü are watching us right now? I bet they think it’s so strange for a lamia and her baby to pray, right?” Li Hua wondered out loud, looking up at the two small statues of the two deities, sighing in content. When the prayer was finished, she stood up and walked off to get some powder. Although the tradition was meant for single and newlywed women, the lamia decided to turn a blind eye to that part of the custom and proceed with the tradition anyway.
“We’ll sprinkle the rest on the roof later. But, for now,” she approached the toddler that was not seated on its own on the floor. As playful as she was, Chun Hua already started to crawl away, but stopped when Li Hua called out to her. “Chun Hua! Chun Hua, look at mama,” she asked and the baby looked up curiously.
Carefully, Li Hua sprinkled some of the powder over her daughter, chanting another, short prayer. The child closed her eyes with a confused smile and then shook her head before starting to rub her face. If she could, she would have said: mommy, that thing tickles!
The lamia laughed at her child’s reaction. “You want to go see the cats now?” she knelt down, caressing her daughter’s growing, black hair. It was then that she saw someone walk into the room and she smiled, seeing it was her dorky prince. “Wo de ai. You’re home. Look, Chun Hua. Baba’s home.”
So thanks to everyone who enjoyed or helped me writing this little dork but my plans with Chul now has to drag him apart from there. Thanks for everything and I will be back soon with a different baby i promise^^
