I think a lot of native speakers would have difficulty, I mean if English gets to be a second nature for you, then you don't always think about analyzing it. Even if you fail the test it doesn't mean you fail the language or that YOU are a failure
It's not one test, they were five tests and they give you an overall grade that literally labels your level of English. I didn't fail the examination though, I got a B. But in my position, a B isn't good enough and I am a failure because I'm 20 years and I'm not good at anything to study at college so studying English was all I had. I needed to get an A, not a B. I needed to stand out for once, not being plain average.
