you ever think about how Ichigo would react to getting restrained? Cause I do.
He spends more time fighting than not, even before the shinigami entered his life and getting pinned almost always meant losing.
It wouldn’t be a problem if he was human. But he isn’t one.
Human or even shinigami medicine might not work on him and it’d be easier if Kisuke could just get him on a lab table long enough to test it before an emergency situation but he can’t.
The millisecond anything -rope, metal, kido- binds his hands, Ichigo struggles. Kicks out and writhes until it lets up or gives.
Skin to skin causes him to freeze- most threats would go for a kill strike, not pin him - but it isn’t possible in most situations. Most medical procedures would require at least two hands.
But since it’s something that’s been trained into him, it could also be trained out of him.

The visored are more…grabby? Then they normally are and Ichigo isn’t stupid but he can’t quite figure out why regardless.
Sparing gets harder and he ends up on the floor more often than not, pinned by a warm body and soothing hands. With how close they get he catches their scents easily. Familiar, friendly, not a threat.
Occasionally a hand winds its way over his throat -to hold, not choke- until he relaxes into the hold and admits defeat.
They drag him around often. From Mashiro grabbing his arm and pulling him to the side for a break, to Hachi lightly leading him to a bench for healing. He can feel their hands on him.
Playfully controlling his movements and getting him used to constant contact.
After he starts relaxing, they make plans to get him used to Kisuke’s restraints. After all he’s mainly to be locked onto his lab table.
Shinji dragging Ichigo to another meeting and normally he’d slink away to a nice spot for a nap but they’ve moved locations this time.
They meet in a different room, Shinji now sitting under sun rays which warm his lap and make it a comfortable space for Ichigo to rest on. (And that’s fine, with how touchy the Visored are sleeping on the lap of another is hardly a weird thing. He blames the isolation.)
Above him the blondes talk about topics he has no interest in, allowing him to somewhat doze off. Not sleep but rest. A hand comes up to pet at him and that makes everything a little nicer, a little softer.
A cup of tea is put to his lips and it’s easy to just drink it than question about it.
The world’s hazy when the hand petting him ghosts his neck and his hands are brought behind his back in a tie and he should be concerned. Should fight.
Except the rope feels like Kisuke. Warmth on his back, hand on his neck and no one to defend, it’s easy to melt once his body recognizes there isn’t any danger.
The change from lap to lab table is barely felt. There was probably something in the tea, not like he’s complaining. The majority of the exams go by without notice.
He fades back into reality in the Visored’s warehouse. Tucked in the nest and wrapped in blankets.
(if the next time he gets injured Kisuke is visibly more confident giving him medication that’s something he doesn’t need to worry about.)
