they both loved it. my best friend’s favorite character is Mr. Heere, and my brother’s is Brooke (also my fave) & THEYRE SO REAL 4 IT. my best friend’s favorite song was Michael In The Bathroom, and my brother’s was The Smartphone Hour. he used to hate that song, but Tiffany Mann’s beautiful vocals won him over.

Gerard

There were some questions about doing scene work with George and he described it as mostly just chewing the scenery (lol) especially in the mall scenes. 

Someone also asked about the slap during Voices In My Head and Gerard said they mostly wanted to do a ‘Oh, you’ bit, but that like with the mall scenes it came down to what George felt like doing that night.

He talked about first hearing about BMC on the train to Jersey, and that when he read the pitch for Rich as a 5 foot five dynamite bully he was like ‘if I don’t get this role I should just quit acting’

Somebody asked who he would like to be quarantined with and he said definitely Micheal, and definitely not Chloe

If he had to pick another character to play it would be Mr. Reyes. Definitely not the SQUIP cause he said with all the hand movements it just seemed way too stressful

His favorite moment as Rich is the jack-o-lantern scene, because he liked having a moment to explore what Rich was going through when he burned down the house. He also likes the classroom scenes cause they were allowed to kind of just do whatever they wanted which Gerard said is very true to Rich as a character

His favorite non-BMC Joe Iconis song is the Cicada Song

Off-Broadway is his favourite version of the show because they can be less ‘clean’ than they have to be on broadway (the example he gave was Rich drawing a dick on the urinal before the song starts)

Tiffany

She said Jenna’s SQUIP would be Wendy Williams. Her own SQUIP is Michelle Obama

Someone asked what the hottest costume she’d ever been in was. Turns out the clown costume is as hot and comfortable to wear as one would assume

Brooke/Jenna has been semi-confirmed: Tiffany said it was definitely/kinda hinted at towards the end of the show

She talked out about how she and Britton are super close to the point that they call each other cousins. She also mentioned they made breakfast together over zoom that morning! which is adorable!!

She said one of her favorite scenes from the show is Two-Player Game, and that because they’d all have to get ready for the mall scene during it, they would do little things like picking up props to the beat backstage

Joe

This was the last question but an incredibly important one: the Be More Chill movie is still in the works! (his exact answer to is it happening, yes or no was: I think so?)

Someone asked what the writing process was like and apparently they started out with both joes writing down their five favorite moments from the book. Joe can’t remember what they were though and he lost the cards he’d written them down on

He said his best friend from the BMC characters would definitely be Micheal, mostly because he’s already really good friends with George in real life and George basically is Micheal, and because most of his friends are Micheals

When talking about cuts and changes he mentioned that his songs are usually way too long, and that the reprise of More Than Survive after the play rehearsal scene was something he had to fight for with each version

When asked about things like casting or writing he always ended up talking about the importance of real people. He wanted to write a story about real people who at their core go through real issues, and he wanted to have a cast of actors that looked like real people and didn’t feel like they only played a certain type

He mentioned immediately knowing that in adapting the book he had to go for an 80′s vibe. He also mentioned that what drew him to adapt the book were the characters and the fact that while they all fall into certain archetypes they subvert them in the end too

In conclusion: They were all super sweet and everyone who attended was really respectful!! I’m super glad I went (and I got to ask Gerard a question!!)
