Small Recap and Reflection
Along with that, I did a little art recap throughout the months. I know I haven't posted much besides some OCs and reblogs, but hopefully I will be able to post more of my art soon enough. Also, a couple of words from me regarding my blog below.
It's been quite daunting to have a presence online since I'm kind of elusive regarding social media (heck, I use things like Artfight). Along with that, I have been feeling a bit pressured at times to create art, but I think I will become more settled when I get used to the hang of it. Even despite that, I really want to continue putting my art and passion out and expressing myself, which here I am, even if it seems a little fruitless.
I'm definitely not popular or big, nor have I even been on Tumblr for very long, but I'm still grateful of people enjoy my art and characters (looking at you Green_Frog_04... who I would also like to thank for supporting me throughout the years and being a great friend of mines). I hope to whoever stumbles onto this post that they will find atleast some joy from my art, musings and world I have created, and have a fantastic new year.
A famous and iconic rock band in Isla Spiro, which stars three members: Alvin (leader, vocalist and bassist), Tauro (drummer), and Azhdahak (guitarist)!
(Although it should be noted that Tauro's sister, Brutette, works as their social media manager, and is a secret DJ and journalist for them too...)
More about them below! (This is a two parter and I'll do the second part when I have time.)
Alvin the Allosaurus
A snarky allosaurus who's practically the face of Jurassick! and its most beloved member. He is basically the idol of Spiro, and was basically popular throughout his entire life, especially during high school where he met the other members and got his musical gig going.
When he's out in public, he's known to speak in an overhyped, flamboyant tone, and be quite the daredevil, doing dangerous stunts and exploring abandoned places. Although many people love him nowadays, he kind of used to be a uh... jerk.
Bruno and him were notorious bullies who targeted Pickles too often. But that all changed with time, Alvin feels quite guilty and tries to apologize to Pickles. Needless to say, Pickles still hates him.
Another endeavors of his is Goof Juice, his very own marketable energy drink! He promotes it extensively by hyping it up and drinking it in public. Alot. Some love it, while others find it too strong and a possible cause for heart attacks.
Tauro the Carnotaurus
A hot-headed carnotaurus who is the band's drummer. He's known to be a hazard when fans gather to sign autographs, so the other members of the band keep an extremely close eye on him. To reduce his endless rage, he sometimes splatters paint around as a supposed form of art therapy...
The fourth of the main five characters in TIIS, Pachie is a kind, jolly pachycephalosaurus with a knack for coconuts and befriending everyone she meets!
Quick and fun facts
Absolutely terrified of troodons and insects
Used to sell coconuts with her ma when she was younger
Quite sensitive with her emotions and can be a bit of a people-pleaser at times
Finds Ink's fur fascinating due to its softness and often gives her surprise hugs
Likes to host coconut cracking competitions and do volunteering
Information
Some may find her a bit obnoxious due to her extroverted nature, but she only means good. She is good friends with Inkling, Bruno, Terry, really anyone who won't rip her to shreds. Pickles finds her a bit odd due to her sociability, but he soon becomes a good friend of hers too.
One time, she called Pickles, 'Peanuts' on accident, now, she uses it as a nickname (Pickles hates it, but doesn't say it because he doesnt want to hurt her feelings.)
While she never intends to hurt anyone, if in an extremely dire, non-negotiable situation, she can break bones with her extremely thick head.
The third of the five main characters of TIIS, Bruno is a stern tenontosaurus who works as a police officer!
Quick and fun facts
Absolutely loves beer, potatoes, radish and salads
Hangs out with Terry, Pachie, and Alvin sometimes, they are his good friends after all
A lot calmer off duty and when helping parents and their children
Uses his whip-like tail, claws, and kicks to fight and subdue criminals
Information
He despises Pickles and is always suspicious of him hiding dead bodies in his fridge. He also barges at his front door too, ordering Pickles for investigations.
His authority and serious attitude can lead him to being seen as condescending. He is usually fine with most of the folk (expect you know who) and is even one of Alvin's good childhood friends, and Pickles uh... former bully. Despite his professionalism, he can lose his cool and has more chance to if Pickles is involved.
He had a wife named Edith, who was a tenontosaurus too. Her passing is the cause of his constant stress and grief, although he tries to hide this most of the time. He also goes to the beach at night sometimes and just... sits there staring at the sea. It reminds him of her. Sometimes the other townsfolk find him crying on the coast and check up on him. Recently, Pickles and Inkling have been picking up on his strange behavior, and have been quite curious...
He also has a rivalry between Crusty, a notorious hitman, which he is still currently searching for. All Bruno knows is that he is the cause for his wife's untimely demise and associated with a mysterious cult...
"'Give me the notepad, this is important. It could be a part of a case I’m-” Bruno cut off as he heard scuttling and a blood-curdling scream. It was Pachie.
Bruno snapped his head and the flashlight towards her to see her smacking a rusty shovel she found at something.
Inkling grabbed onto the handle of the shovel in an attempt to stop her. “Pachie! Pachie- Stop, it’s just an animal!-” She yelled frantically."
A little illustration for Trouble In Isla Spiro where Pachie, Inkling and Bruno encounter a troodon and Pachie being Pachie, is not so happy about it...
The passage above comes from Lab Lunacy, a story in the TIIS universe regarding the main characters exploring an abandoned laboratory and finding its not-so-great secrets.
(I will post about Bruno and Pachie soon enough, but infer what you can from them as of now, hehe)
The second of the five main characters of Trouble In Isla Spiro, Pickles is a grumpy ceratosaurus who works as a disgruntled butcher. He's my 2nd main OC!
Quick and fun facts
has an instinct to involuntarily chuff at people if they get too close while he's eating. He hates it as it scares people away, and tries to suppress it
The two fangs that stick out his lower jaw are inherited from his mother
Everytime he gets a door knock, he has a heightened sense of flight or fight (thanks Bruno...)
He naturally has tan/slightly yellow teeth despite brushing everyday
Loves Inkling's tail and uses it as a blanket
He is a carnivore but loves to occasionally drink Pachie's freshly harvested coconut juice
DESPISES Bruno and Alvin's guts
Information
Pickles has a miserable job of being a butcher. Not only is he taunted with the sight of meat, his business barely gets any sales. This could be from the reputation of ceratosaurs being unclean or just bad luck. For lunch breaks, he often sneaks into the backdoor and gorges himself on the rotten meat in the alleyway. While this may sound... horrid, his species is a scavenger after all, and he doesn't get sick from this, heck, its probably the only good thing in his job.
Pickles also doesn't have the greatest relationship with the townsfolk. Both Bruno and Alvin were his childhood bullies, and still are to some extent. Bruno, having the job of an officer, is extremely paranoid of him hiding dead bodies in his fridge and likes to barge on his door, and Alvin, a now famous idol and leader of Jurassick!, likes to tease him way too often. Also doesn't help that Inkling is a big fan of Jurassick! but Pickles never scolds her about it, he doesn't have the heart to.
Despite this enmity around him, he's best friends with Inkling (who he lives with and adores), somewhat good friends with Pachie and fishing buddies with Terry.

Trouble in Isla Spiro
Trouble in Isla Spiro is my personal passion project and what my blog is mostly about. It is inspired by Happy Tree Friends and especially The Isle.
The premise of TIIS is that it takes place on Isla Spiro, an enigmatic island owned by a secretive science organization called Apollo Engineering (Æ). The folks on this island are not just the prevalent mammals of today, but saurians, sapient dinosaurs and pterosaurs brought back to life by Æ as a consequence of them playing God. Thus, to the dismay of Æ and its corrupt authority, they began to hyper-evolve and become a civilization. Still, Isla Spiro is full of secrets that have yet to be discovered...
