Tim Macmillan’s Time-Slice Camera Shows 360 Degree Views of a Single Moment

Some people think art school is a waste of time, but if stuff people did in art school helps people waste time decades later, maybe these folks should reconsider. Embedded above is a compilation of images from a contraption now known as the Time-Slice, a camera that effectively takes pictures from a range of angles at the same time, which can then be assembled into a 360-degree stereoscopic view of a single moment. The concept was worked out by Tim Macmillan while he was in (you guessed it) art school in the ’80s.
