Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Tim Miller at The Bulwark talks with Nicole Wallace about how immigration has gone from Republicans' best issue to arguably their worst issue.
But before the segment with Nicole Wallace, Tim brings up Trump's comments regarding voting. Trump wants the federal government to "take over" voting in 15 places.
Frankly, it looks like Trump is trying to rig the midterms, there will be an uprising which makes resistance in Minnesota to ICE and CBP look understated if he makes any serious attempt to disrupt voting.
We need to be vigilant about any attempts to interfere with free and fair elections in the United States.
On a local level, any voter can volunteer to become a poll worker for Election Day. It's different in every state, but you attend a training session (several hours) sometime before Election Day and then actually run the election in the precinct you'll be working in along with four (or so) other volunteers. And if you don't screw up, you get paid a modest amount for your service. Contact your local board of elections or county clerk for details about serving in your area.
Nationally, make FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS a mantra. We don't want the folks who gave us ICE invasions of our cities to be running our elections. Any attempt by MAGA psycho Pam Bondi to take over elections should be stopped in its tracks.
Trump still wants people to think that he won the 2020 election. And he thinks that rigging things would no longer make him a loser.
Fairness doesn't matter with Trump. He would be fine with Russian style elections like the last one where Putin got 88.5% of the vote against three hand-picked opponents.
The relatively good news here is that Trump is both lazy and clumsy. If we are diligent and resourceful, we can head off any MAGA attempts to steal or disrupt the election.

Secret Level (2024)
Ryan Reynolds term as Deadpool seemed dead on arrival due to the clumsy handling of the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009). In fact, the movie itself was panned so bad that the planned follow up Origins movies were killed and replaced by First Class films. Reynolds, however, didn't give up and campaigned for giving the character another chance and done right. He even had a 3 minute test reel made to convince studio heads at Fox. When the footage was shared to the public, the response was enough to Green Light production. It became the first R Rated Fox Marvel Film that was followed up by the R rated Wolverine movie Logan the following year. While it had a modest budget for a super hero film, it became the first R rated film to have a three-day weekend that brought in over a 100 million in the US and became the highest grossing R rated film of all time. It was also the largest opening for a first time theatrical director. Stan Lee's cameo was as a DJ at a strip club. Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld also made a brief cameo at the bar. Co-Creator Fabian Nicieza was referenced with the street name Fabian St. The movie was Tim Miller's first theatrical film as a director. Daniel Cudmore, who played Colossus in X2: X-Men United and X-Men: Days of Future Past declined to play the role for the film, so was replaced by Andre Tricoteux/Stefan Kapicic/Greg LaSalle. The role earned Ryan Reynolds the first actor to be nominated for a Golden Globe playing a Marvel character. The film also featured Morena Baccarin as Venessa, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Ed Skrein as Ajax, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, and Randal Reeder as Buck. The film had a release date of February 12, 2016. ("Deadpool", Marvel Movie Event)
Happy 10th anniversary, Deadpool!
Deadpool was released 10 years ago today!
Thanks for leaking that test footage, Rya-uh, random person on the internet.
