tim hasn't always taken the best care of his things. he'll lose stuff, or it'll be broken in a few days. books and his guns seem to be exceptions.
until he manages to lose the journal ivy gave him. he's not the only crew member to have one, but he's certain he's the only one who uses his. he misplaces it. it's not a matter of he can't find it. he genuinely can't remember where he'd put it.
he winds up in ivy's archive/library/whatever it's called. he searches through shelves of books in vain. until he finds a book on the... ygddrasil system. he flicks through its pages, with no luck. but his original journal's tucked between the cover and first page of the book.
he didn't borrow this book. he hasn't been into ivy's archives for a while. so why the hell is his journal here, it's last few pages scrawled with notes on midgard and its resistance? it's all odin and loki and sigyn. over and over, sigyn's name is repeated in a sloping hand he usually reserved for writing his signature.

I'm hosting a crack writing challenge on ao3.
What is it?
Midwinter Crackfest 2024. Take a crackish trope-- this year is "accidental penetration"-- and write an anonymous submission (i.e. submit to this collection).
Voting??
Readers can vote by saying things in the comments. Each reader can pick ONE fic for each category, by commenting the words "best overall read" (quality), "crackiest execution of the trope" (creativity) or "hottest" (best execution of the smut). You only get three votes (one vote in each category) but you can put them all on the same fic if you want.
At the end we count up the comments, declare winners, and reveal the authors (no longer anonymous).

Rules:
Submit a fic during the timeline that uses the trope (29 Nov-19 Dec). It will be unrevealed until voting starts on the 19th and then anonymous until voting is finished on the 24th. Then it will be both revealed and have your name on it.

Q- What is the challenge timeline?
A- Folks can submit fics from 29 November to 19 December, when voting starts. Voting is closed 24 December.
Q- What happens if I leave "best overall read" comments/votes on more than one fic?
A- We kill you out back. JK we ignore all but the first one by timestamp.
Q- is there a length requirement?
A- no
Q- What is "accidental penetration?"
A- A very amusing an entirely unlikely situation in which the dick accidentally slips in. You could be boring and write accidental penetration of the wrong hole (i.e. going for one but slide into the other) but the intent is the trope for two people who weren't trying to have sex, suddenly fucking unintentionally. I.e. they're tied up in their underwear by a bad guy and wiggling to escape the ropes made something slip somewhere else, cue surprised pikachu face.
Q- Can it be any fandom?
A- Yes
Q- Can I submit multiple fills?
A- Yeah it's anonymous, so it'll help bulk the numbers of participants AND muddy the waters if your friends happen to recognize your writing style. Decoy fics haha
Q- Are there any content restrictions?
A- Nope. This is ao3 and anything goes. Just follow ao3's warning system as normal.
