French Postage Stamps
French postage stamp with illustration depicting the 1788 uprising in Grenoble (Journée des Tuiles*) - which is considered by some as the starting point of the French Revolution.
*Roof tiles Day- named after the “shower” of roof tiles dropped over a group of soldiers sent to Grenoble to put an end to that revolt. Apparently at some point one of them injured a 75 year old civilian with a bayonet and therefore folksmen climbed to roof tops and started throwing tiles at them;
Postage stamp from France depicting Lucky Luke, created in 1946 by Morris, a Belgian cartoonist.
