Person: Haha, I love Christmas in July! It's so cheery and helps me get in the spirit! Don't you think?
Me, someone with mild time dysphoria who freaks out every July because it makes me feel like Christmas is days away: *sweats nervously*
Me: Ugh do they really have to put *insert holiday* related stuff out two/three months early?? That's so excessive...
Person: Then why are you buying it? You're encouraging them
Me: I literally can't help myself because I feel like I'll run out of time if I don't, this is not my choice
Me: *expressing severe anxiety about the holiday season*
Me: I know, only four months until the rush, I'm so behind
Person: Wow! You started buying gifts/decorations three months early!? You're so prepared!!
Me: No you don't understand, this isn't a mark of a well-put-together prepared person with control over their life, this is a mark of mental illness
Person: Oh don't worry about what to get me for my birthday/Christmas, I'll like anything you buy!
Me: But if you don't give me explicit details I'll literally buy everything and second guess all of it
Person: Oh you know me! I'm easy to shop for :)
Me: I mean I know you on a casual level but what was your favorite Disney movie as a child and what animal do you have an extreme emotional attachment to? If my gift doesn't make you tear up I obviously didn't do it right
Person: Only 84 days till Christmas!
TV: *runs random holiday related special at a completely random time of year*
Me: *curls up in a ball and has an anxiety attack*
Person: I can't wait until winter so we can get rid of this heat- what are you doing?
Me: *buying gift wrap and Christmas ornaments* WINTER IS COMING
