Wonderful news, in the last month the Milwaukee Area Time Exchange was awarded a small grant from the Sparkplug Foundation. This grant will be used primarily to hire three organizers for part-time short-term outreach to increase time exchange activity in the 53212, 53205 and 53203 zip code areas. If you know of community organizers interested in applying for one of these positions, please ask them to contact the office.

The Wright Street Resource Center, our collaborative work space/community service venture, has also been nominated for a Milwaukee Award for Neighborhood Development Innovation. Come by the office on January 25th at 3:30 to check out our computer lab, the free store, and be a part of the professional video production creating a promo piece for WSRC.

Finally, the Wisconsin Community Fund has invited Mke TE to join their Community Grantmaking Event in February to help facilitate asset sharing between grassroots organizations.

UWM Outreach – In February, we will start tabling in the UWM concourse to encourage more student engagement in exchanges. If you are a student at UWM and would like to earn time credits helping with campus outreach, please contact the office. We will also be presenting in several social welfare/community organizing classes and to several student orgs.
