Gabbro and the Hatchling trying to come to terms with an uncertain future before their attempted final voyage to the Vessel. I wanted to highlight the optimism, despite the risk of hopelessness. Even in other universes, even if their lives had been different, if they'd otherwise been very different people, they would've found one another. It makes that uncertainty something they can put their faith and trust into. There's comfort in the idea that, if there was a way for them to meet, they would have found a way to work together. So, they promise the other: if there's a way to find you, I will.

It's really appealing concept to me: an unlikely pair getting together because they got to know each other under some unusual circumstances.

That it happened to be outside time is an extra bonus. Hilarious to imagine in post-loop-AU :D I've seen plenty ppl explore that already. It's so fun
