TimeGate is an annual science fiction / fantasy convention that focuses on Doctor Who and Stargate but also includes programming on a wide range of other sci-fi / fantasy interests. So if you're into Stargate SG-1, Doctor Who,Stargate Atlantis, Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures or Stargate Universe this is the convention for you! But if not, we'll also have Star Trek, Battlestar, literary, costuming, horror and comics programming too, along with many other topics. In 2013, we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, a unique achievement in the world of television science fiction / fantasy.
This is Hannah, one of the many social media TimeGate admins! It was last month that I was perusing the TimeGate tag here on tumblr when I noticed there were quite a few of us on here. Putting my social media mind at work, I figured it wouldn't hurt to have a presence on tumblr. Getting the okay from Alan tonight, TimeGate finally has a tumblr presence!
The above statement is great at describing TimeGate but its also so much more! I went to my first TimeGate last May, it was actually my first convention ever! I have so say, it might have been the best idea I ever had! I met the most wonderful people and saw the most awesome things! No matter that Caitlin Blackwood (Little Amelia Pond on Doctor Who) was there or David Nykl (Dr. Radek Zelenka on Stargate Atlantis), but the countless other guests as well! The experts and the authors and the bands! It was amazing!
This coming year is an extra special TimeGate as it is the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who and because of that, the powers that be have been able to secure even bigger and better stars! This will be the year TimeGate has a Doctor! The great Colin Baker will be coming to TimeGate this Memorial Day weekend and now is the time to get your memberships!
