"Goodbye"
Send me “Goodbye” for the last voice message my muse leaves for yours before they die. The disgustingly familiar automated voice chimed, but in this case, it was a godsend. Genesis wasn’t sure if he had it in him to say anything if Cloud had picked up. Hell he wasn’t even sure how long he could speak right now, let alone keep a decent hold on his PHS. His hands were shaking, and it was becoming a struggle to draw adequate breath. In a more instructive but ultimately futile effort, the redhead kept his free hand pressed to his side which was gashed open. Hell, he was amazed he was still conscious. But he knew he was in trouble. He had gone to deal with a rouge/feral summons that led him out to the middle of nowhere, and it had gotten the upper hand on him…he didn’t even have enough mana left to try healing. “H-Hey Cloud…I’m really sorry but…I don’t think I’m going to make it home this run.” The commander said uneasily, both from a combination of his physical condition and also the fear building in him a he realized he more than likely wasn’t going to make it. “I tried, but I-I really m-messed up. I’m really sorry… but I’m-” he paused, trying to quickly stifle a sudden coughing fit that left the taste of copper in his mouth. “I’m not doing well over here….I don’t want to leave you though. Just….Cloud, I’m really sorry. Take care of yourself, for me. I love you, remember th-that. God I wish I could see you…I’ll miss you…but I’ll keep an eye on you too .” Taking in a rattling breath, a bitter smile crossed the redheads bloodied lips as he promised the latter. “I’m so sorry Cloud…I’ll miss you…Goodbye.”
