The dirt absorbs the demon like rain on dry terrain, that murky puddle travelling quickly across the floor – not that it soon matters as his opponent takes the defensive. And Mephiles cannot help but silently snicker to himself: ARE YOU AFRAID OF ME? Deep down the question has him reeling, disgusted to take so much glee in threatening that he once very much cared about. Oh, it had all been so long ago now… what does it matter? What loss could ever matter in the face of his other half? Iblis had been taken from him, not once, BUT TWICE. He should have expected as much, all bane from those he once trusted. They’re all the same. Those times of recounting histories and futures unwritten mean nothing with his own pages burned. With… Solaris’ pages burned. Perhaps it’s best it all blurs so inconsistently together, amidst his corrupted anger: it’s less painful that way, and the sentiment is easier to douse. It can’t hurt him. Nothing can hurt him. NOT ANYMORE. And he’ll make sure Sonic the Hedgehog remembers that.
The murky ooze shoots up into the air like a fountain, swiping at thin air as the hedgehog is gone with the wind. No comment is made, irritation simmering into the demon’s form as he submerges back into the ground.
The hedgehog’s words don’t seem to reach him, or perhaps he doesn’t quite care. To his core, he’s in auto-pilot, too furious to even humor Sonic’s claims at hypocrisy ( LIES… Sonic thinks Mephiles is feeding him LIES? ). Hahaha… does he have any idea what he’s done? He doesn’t, DOES HE? His silence more than makes it clear he doesn’t care anymore. Besides… why admit to a wrong that is false? Why should he listen anymore? The blue saviour is foolish as he is DEAD. And he will make sure he is BURIED.
The ooze leaps back into the darkness angrily, diving into the depths of the environment’s shade – a shade that expands menacingly, the demon’s prying claws reaching for the hedgehog’s silhouette. The air is icy and bitter as reptilian eyes train on the hedgehog. I AM NIGHT AS I AM DAY; AND THIS IS YOUR JUDGMENT DAY.
