Timeless Wells- Extra 4 (Flash)
“Thank you for an amazing dinner (Y/N).”
You smile at Harrison.
“Thank you for coming.”
He hands you the dry plate, and you stack it into your tray. Harrison places the cloth down, and you turn to him. You’re a bit sad that the night is already over.
A part of you doesn’t want to leave his side. He shifts on his feet, taking a step.
“Do you-”
“Would you like to-”
You both pause, and you smile, urging him to speak. He takes a soft breath.
“Tonight, would it be okay if I just held you (Y/N)?”
Your heart strums at his words.
“I would like that.”
A look of pure joy seems to run across his face.
“That’s great! That’s great.” He does a little shuffle of his feet and you can’t help but giggle.
“I’m going to pack some clothes and then we can head to your place.”
“Sounds good to me!”
His smile doesn’t leave, not even when you turn the corner.
~~
Having teleporting abilities really did save on gas. Harrison had gotten you both there in record time, and you were preparing to take a bath and freshen up.
“Towel, tooth paste, wash towel, shampoo..Conditioner! I forgot the conditioner!”
Harrison is scrambling as he gathers items for you to shower. You take his hand to stop his crazy antics.
“Relax, I’m not going to run off because you forgot the conditioner.” You laugh.
“I know, I know. I’m just nervous.”
“Well you don’t have to be. I’m not going anywhere. Alright?”
He nods, holding your hands.
He’s such a sweetheart.
“You know I’m happy you only show this side of yourself to me. If we hadn’t gotten this close I would have never suspected you were such an adorable guy.” He flushes lightly with a chuckle.
“I should let you get in the shower. Call me if you need anything. “
Harrison leaves a kiss on your forehead as he heads down the hall. It’s so crazy he really has no idea how fortunate you feel when his eyes look your way. You giggle to yourself, heading for the bathtub. You fill it up, plucking one of your bath bombs from your bag. It takes a while for the water to fill up. When it’s filled, the scent of your soap makes you sigh.
You strip, sliding into the tub. You lay back, mind running through all that has gone on in your life recently. Meeting Harrison befriending him. Now dating him. You can’t say this is the route you thought your life would take. You smile. It feels kind of nice being the only one who knows his secret. In your eyes he’s a hero.
The powers he holds that he doesn’t abuse like the way you know so many criminals would. Then leading a company to further science that would ultimately help the world. He was intelligent and he’d built a life for himself.
But your mind trails back to the story of his past. All he’d suffered, lost. Yet he still came back here.
Just for another chance at love.
With you.
At the start you tried to push him away because you didn’t feel like you deserved it.
Yes, you were terrified of his abilities at the beginning. But the more you got to know him, the easier it was to love him.
Love?
“I love him..”
Your body becomes tense. Then you jump upright. You grab your towel carelessly, running out of the tub a bit clumsily.
“H-Harrison!!” You call.
You pull open the door, darting outside, and Harrison is running towards you. Both of you meet halfway. He’s holding you protectively.
“What’s wrong!”
He’s looking around for anything. A sign that will give him an idea of what the problem is. You’re still soaking wet. Your breathing is a bit heavy from the short sprint.
“I-I love you.”
He seems to be processing your words. You take a deep breath this time.
“I love you Harrison Wells.”
He’s silent for a while. You sort of expect it. It seems like he doesn’t know what to say. How to feel.
“You..love me..”
You nod frantically.
“I-I do! I love you!! I just..I love you..”
A smile makes its way on his face, and he pulls you into a hug, laughing happily. Although there’s clear elation, you can spot the hint of sadness. You hear it in his voice when he speaks. He tightens his hold as if he’ll wake up and you’ll be gone.
“I love you too..so much..”
You return the embrace, holding on just as tightly as you cry.
“I love you.”
It’s a whisper that you feel that you have to continuously convey. Harrison nods tearfully. He can’t bring himself to say anymore words. He doesn’t need to. You already know. You can feel it in his embrace.
See it in his eyes everyday.
Hear it in his words whenever he says your name.
That’s it.
That’s enough.
