Animation prep work!

Not arcana-related but might as well post so here

I don’t know if anyone wants to know my process, but in case anyone is curious, here it is, just in case it helps anyone! I work on everything in what I refer to as cycles. Essentially, I’ll have all my sketches done for the next two updates (so say I’m looking to release parts 1 and 2 of a book; all the sketches will be done for both in a given week). Then I’ll do the lineart for the most upcoming cycle.

 Usually I’ll do my colors right after. I have a bad habit of getting VERY lazy with shading in the last few pages, and doing the lineart and shading together helps curb that a little bit. But if I’m really pressed for time and have a bunch of things coming up, then I’ll go ahead and do the sketches for the third update and the lineart for the second before I do my coloring for part 1. 

It also helps to be VERY organized. I try to label everything with the book number and page number, as well as separating them with folders and /then/ further separating the .sai and .jpeg files. That way, I’ll have an idea of how many pages I’ve released in my previous update, and how many I’m releasing in the next one.

I promise I’m going back to regular updates after this <3 I’ve been pretty swamped with my animation final so my time has been eaten by uni. The mini-comics were sort of to give myself a bit of a break while still being able to update! From now until my next milestone, it’s gonna be regular in-order comics!~

Hi guys! Pretty soon, I’ll be hitting 500 followers! (unbelievable)

I want to thank you guys so much for being fans of my artwork and for all the lovely tags and asks! A few months ago, I was in a very rough spot in my life, and never had I thought that a simple mobile game could have such an effect on me. Never had I thought that my art could actually reach so many people. And yet, here we are. The Arcana has helped me so much, both emotionally and artistically. So to thank you guys, I’d love to make a special comic of your choice! It will most likely come sometime after the next regular update!

To submit your choice for the comic, please go here. If you don’t have a google account (I’m not sure if that’s required to answer), here are the four options so far:

-Julianne’s backstory (how she comes to Vesuvia, as well as how she meets Dr. Devorak! This one would probably be the longest!)
