Hello! Do you havr any poses that could be used for a repairmam/engineer/grease monkey/tinkerer character? Like people fidgeting with tools and disassembling things?
I do now... This is one of many coming in a future tinkerer's pack. Stay tuned for when that drops!
like Wiki genuinely needs me (and everyone but i'm making a subjective-opinion post) and one thing i DON'T have, is Money. the one thing i DO have, is Time. I think (?) people nowadays are more willing to part with Money, than Time. because jobs/studying in official ways.
i do not 👀 and i literally can't, in any way that economically matters. i'm permanently disabled. the auatralian government basicslly pays me a meager disabilty pension to stay home and not be a public liability. which is honestly fine with me! so. what can i do? 👀
long post, probably, so adding a readmore
i don't want to make money. i am not interested in making money, for probably similar reasons why Wikipedia exists as it does and is still not for profit 👀
so far all i can afford to do right now is this:
but I want to DO more. something to help.
here're the options for anyone interested in seeing:
i am actively learning how to DIY my own clothes at home. i like learning. so i am. maybe i can use my hobbies to help? 👀 somehow?
I did surgery on Ticky! some parts felt as anxiety provoking as if I were prodding into a human (POSIC?) I removed a staple I found on it's hard drive, which I think was because it was a school machine
here's it before I fixed him, confirming the hard drive is broken, he would go to a gray screen and make ticking sounds
now quiet and boots fine!
this is considered one of the hardest older laptops to repair, according to a YouTube tinkerer that I watched to learn about it, there are many tabs and everything can break easily
there was a STAPLE I found on top of the broken hard drive, I wonder if it somehow damaged it? it came through the vent
this is my second fixed machine, the other one had RAM with bad pins that seemed scraped and corroded and I think it's because seller said there used to be a swollen battery, I think it pushed up and damaged the RAM
it was fun and not so expensive actually, but I broke two spudgers trying to carefully pry the tabs!
I love Ticky even if Ticky's more a soft swoosher now
Got this broken beauty, the Phillips AX1100 portable CD player, as my new major project. The goal is to restore her to a working condition. There appears to be no physical damage, but a cursory poke-around with the multimeter does reveal ALL the capacitors on the inside are fried. I suppose I will start by trying to replace those. Wonder what could have caused it?
