The funniest thing about the quasi-polycule Mo/Resa/Staubfinger/Roxane is. Mo/Resa & Staubfinger/Roxane? Obvious, are happily married, have/had multiple children together. Resa/Staubfinger? Lowkey canon as well, certainly have History together and feelings for each other. Mo/Staubfinger? Came back from the dead together, know each other's hearts as well as their own etc. Resa/Roxane? Grew close fast despite everything, extremely shippable. Mo/Roxane? Uh. Well. Sometimes they were in the same place at the same time, I guess???

Okay. I guess wir hören jetzt den ganzen Tintenwelt-Zyklus an. Die Bücher hatte ich zuletzt in der sechsten Klasse in der Hand, vielleicht auch in der siebten. Mal sehen, ob ich das nach 14-15 Jahren immer noch so mag wie damals.

And there stood Basta with his foot on another dead body, smiling. Why not? He had hit his target, and it was the target he had been aiming for all along: Dustfinger’s heart, his stupid heart. It broke in two as he held Farid in his arms, it simply broke in two, although he had taken such good care of it all these years.

Having read Tintenherz and Tintenblut

For some reason, I can only imagine Lars Mikkelsen as Capricorn, even though he is a silly man in hindsight. But the Adderhead? Timothy Dalton. Timothy fucking Dalton, hell, I could hear his voice whenever the Adder spoke.

The Black Prince is such a great character, couldn't think of anyone other than Chadwick Boseman. RIP.

Mo's perspective in Inkspell (Tintenblut) was haunting, sometimes. The way his violent fantasies and wrathful thoughts feel so righteous, at first, and you think that he has every right to feel like this. Then you think back and realize that this is the man that refused to kill Basta in Inkheart when they had them by the shack in the woods, even though he'd threatened and hurt his daughter. And then it's clear that Mo is becoming something colder, harsher.

The cultural shock is interesting, though. I'm used to reading English books, usually by US or UK authors, and man are they much, much lighter than this.

The relationship between Mo, Resa, Dustfinger and Roxane is beautifully complex and nuanced.
