Monica’s quirky little 200 sq. ft. studio apt. in Boston, Massachusetts has the most fabulous tile fireplace.

Tiny under the counter fridge, almost enough space for one person's weekly groceries. It’s cute, though, looks like someone shrunk a big fridge.

Monica says her pots double as decor.

In a one room apt., you can’t have a favorite room, but her favorite part is the fireplace.

Would you believe that the previous tenants painted these tiles over with white paint? Monica had a feeling that there was something good underneath and it took a whole day of scraping to get it off.

Jiske’s tiny 375 sq. ft. studio apt. in the Netherlands was built in 1909 and completely renovated by her landlord in the original style. Doesn’t it look old? Jiske fell in love with the apt. b/c she’s a fan of the architectural style.

The chair was given to her by her parents. The desk is vintage, which she got for her birthday. The table is her biggest splurge for the house, and it really is unique.

This is the box bed. It looks so small, but maybe it goes farther into the wall? The curtains were already there, and Jiske left them b/c they give a very dramatic vibe.

I wish she showed more of the kitchen, but the sink is fabulous.

Jiske says the apt. is challenging to decorate since the style of the house itself is already a big statement. However, she feels that she made it work.

The bookcase holds her collection of art books and literature, which is very dear to her. In front, is her Moustache stool.

The doors behind the couch open to the bathroom. Wow, that’s a small apt.

I just came across Nest, a micro-apt. in Jersey City, New Jersey. They come furnished and rents start at $1,277 mo., although another rental site says they start at $1,374. Yes, Northern NJ rent is ridiculous, b/c it’s just a stone’s throw from New York City- I live here. But, I’m not so sure this is a good deal. What do you think?

This is crazy- Gracie’s apartment in Boston is SMALL. It’s a converted brownstone, but her home is only a 100 sq. ft. room! Look at how narrow it is. Apparently, they call this a “micro studio.” Gracie is a climate organizer, interested in living more sustainably and refusing to accept the capitalist idea that you need more, more, more to be happy.

She got a counter-height table for the kitchen area. It's great because it adds much-needed counter space for cooking, has storage shelves, and is a dining table. It also divides the kitchen from the living area very nicely.

The centerpiece of the apartment is the mantel — she’s growing Pothos up the trellis that she bought and painted white. She also laced in some string lights that make for some cozy evening lighting. She must sleep on the sofa, b/c the place isn’t wide enough for a pull-out.

The gorgeous arched windows makes for a cute and cozy office nook. She works full-time from home, so this is her favorite space.

Originally the floors in the bathroom were ugly brown tiles, so she re-tiled it for thirty dollars by using stick-and-peel tiles from WallPOPs — very renter and budget friendly! She also installed some floating shelves, to add storage.
