MONDAY MATINEE MUSIC VIDEO—“Tiny Goddess” by Tim Andrews a.k.a Chris Andrews. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNK7BWJmuLs
This fantasy piece about a petite woman was created in 1967 by the British psychedelic pop band Nirvana (not to be confused with the American band of the 90s). It folded in with the subgenre “baroque pop”—when classical music forms and instrumentation are integrated with psychedelic rock, championed by The Beach Boys, Beatles, Bee Gees, Left Banke, Moody Blues, Procol Harum, etc. Tim picked up the thread in 1970 with harpsichord, dense orchestration, and vocals soaring high in the mix. It was produced by Tony Hall and David Mackay (Gene Pitney, Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler) and arranged by Paul Buckmaster—the great composer and orchestrator who’d soon go on to work with Elton John. This was recorded at Abbey Road. Chris recalls, “It was a memorable session because we did everything in one take. That doesn’t happen too often.” (Download the remastered “Tiny Goddess” here: https://timchrisandrews.bandcamp.com/track/tiny-goddess)...
