it turns out the answer is lots of self worth issues~~~~ but also when Usopp manages to cope a lot of affectionate teasing~~~~ and then Usopp tames the bugs on the ship and becomes ant man basically. When they finally get to elbaf sanji has to make sure he doesn’t get fucking lost in a giants fingernail or something ahhhh oh my god
