since people are sending submissions in again im assuming you’re writing for votes again. uh. toxic smallidarity again?? with the addition of tiny tom if possible since you’ve mentioned him and I’m losing my mind /silly
Wwoohohhohohohho..... of course >:) I didn't have the word room to do exactly what I wanted (I. Actually had to force myself to hit quota and then struggled with the ending) but its angsty and implied toxic. And yes tiny Tom is mentioned
Jimmy's voice is quiet, and Joel turns to face him, adjusting his shoulder wrap against a swirl of icy wind.
Jimmy seems... more reserved than normal, eyes flickering between Joel and the ground with anxiety. He fidgets with the buttons on his dramatic black coat.
He trails off. Clears his throat. Starts again.
"Why did you give up our child?"
"Well, from the start, I told you it was for the Secret Santa-"
Jimmy's head lifts sharpely, and Joel realizes his eyes are glinting with tears. "That's not what I asked."
There's a moment of silence, as Joel tries to figure out what on earth he could mean.
"Our child." The Sheriff's voice is shaking.
"Let me rephrase," Jimmy sighs. "Why did you ask... me?"
And Joel can only think of one answer, and that's the truth. He doesn't want to say it, but Jimmy asked...
"Because I knew you would say yes."
Jim's head drops, and he doesn't move.
"If it's any comfort," Joel adds on, "the person I gave Tim to is taking good care-"
"Shut up." Jimmy says loudly. Joel shuts up.
"You're horrible." And then Jimmy leaves.
