Fire for Mortals and the divine - poem

Poem under the cut

You fascinate me

As the fire of Olympus

Had fascinated Prometheus

And as Prometheus gave fire

To mortals

To improve them

To allow them some form of freedom

They had not had prior

You have given me

Something

I had not had

Prior

Call it some sort of flame

Of devotion

Of an emotion

I had not experienced before

Some may have said

That you had cast a spell on me

A trance induced state

That i would not have experienced

Otherwise

They are incorrect

For you had given me one glance

With your crystalline eyes,

The color of clear blue water

The Rotomairewhenua

Is sacred to its native peoples

For a reason

I suppose

I could not ever

Put it into mortal words,

For my tongue is meant

For the language of the Divine,

But i hope you understand

The meaning i put

Into the ink of words

That rest on parchment
