“OK, WELL SOME OF THEM DON’T WORK.” THE BOY HUFFED, CROSSING HIS ARMS. “BED? I’M NOT GOING TO BED. IN FACT, I’M GOING BACK TO MY LAB.”
“You are going to bed f you don’t want me to tell your parents how to enter your laboratory, young man” Last word about the matter. What was so wrong about having one night to get some sleep and rest for a change.
( tiny-smartass liked for a starter! )
“Y’know, it’s pretty much impossible to just call in and make an appointment to see you.”
It’s a very casual statement for the innumerable layers of security the boy’s somehow managed to slip through to be inside Dexter’s laboratory right now, comfortable in the chair in front of his work desk. Computer greets Dexter as normal with its robotic voice, too, making no explanation of the intruder it should have vaporised on entry - almost as if he isn’t even there. Just part of the scenery, still and calm.
“Numbuh 274, first-in-command of the Kids Next Door. You might have heard of us.”

Latias had never truly understood the tendency humans had to wear those strange frames in front of their eyes. She saw plenty of people adorned with the accessory in her travels--strolling about the streets or wilderness as though not a single thing was blocking their vision. Then again, since the object seemed to be transparent, perhaps it was just a fashion statement?
It was seeing this boy in front of her wearing the same bewildering accessory that encouraged her to finally try it out for herself.
She had to bend down slightly to reach his height, delicately pull the glasses off of his nose and place them on her own. Her lips parted with wonder, and she immediately recoiled with squinted eyes when faced with the blurry world the spectacles presented to her. That's what they saw? They ambled around with their surroundings one big smudge of color?
What could possibly be gained from that?

The Fiction of Science (Closed)
Ah conventions. A place for people to let out their inner selves.
Especially Scifi/Cartoon ones.
A safe haven for geeks and nerds to just be themselves and not worry about criticism from others. A place to talk about events and shows with like-minded individuals.
A relatively healthy convention that wasn't too small but not too hectic ran in New Orleans for one weekend every year. The fall meant so many things but this was the most interesting time for the Big Easy. Mardi Gras brought some strange characters in the spring but Mechacon attendees were even more vibrant.
The costumes more extravagant and the diversity of interests just as wide as the city's culture. The convention hosted events and actors ranging from Star Check's great Captain and the Doctor from Doctor Time Space and the Continuums to anime voice actors to Justice Friends members. Even table top games were played there. Fans of all these dressed up accordingly.
It was at this convention that two unlikely strangers would meet for the first time.
Amanda Fluffire. A local of New Orleans and a frequent attendee of the convention. This KND Operative took a break from her busy studies and missions every year to spend the weekend dressed up and geeking out.
This eventful Saturday found her dressed up as a female version of the 10th Doctor. Though she kept her glasses on. Between events she spotted a rather short boy that looked very familiar. Though she couldn't put her finger on were she'd seen him before.
After several minutes of trying to think she gave up and decided to speak to him. "Hi there. I love your costume~" She smiled at him. "Are you heading to Major Glory's event? I'm hoping I can get an autograph."
