Angel Engine and the issues of using Uriel
Ok so idk how many of you guys know about Angel Engine; it's an analog horror that's been uploaded to Instagram shorts for....i dont know how long actually.
Basically the plot is that humanity prays for help during a global crisis and God sends Uriel. Humanity [specifically Dr. Ernstmann] captures Uriel and decides to turn him into an eternal power source for humanity. I won't spoil anything past that.
But my issue is; why Uriel?
Uriel is mostly present in Rabbinic texts [though he is in some Christian texts]. That's not really my issue though. My issue is, why did they use the archangel of truth, knowledge, and illumination for Angel Engine?
Uriel is also the guardian of Eden. Dude straight up has a flaming sword. He's literally portrayed as being as 'pitiless as a demon' and yet he....doesn't fight against the humans who capture him and deform him into this weird-ass generator??
I'm surprised they didn't pull a Good Omens and invent someone like Aziraphale, who is a principality. Principalities govern certain groups of people or areas; in Aziraphale's case, he's the Principality of the Eastern Gate.
Like, in Rabbinic texts, archangels are....pretty high up there. Also, I can't really figure out which version of religion and angel hierarchy Angel Engine is following. Rabbinic texts [where Uriel is most often found] list archangels as a high-ranking order but Christian texts list them as below principalities. Like....which....one is it following??
I'm not an expert on religion by any means but I'm sitting here watching the reels like '....wait why Uriel???'
